see if your local online library has them.
If you have a library card (apply online) and you can pretty much read everything for free online at home.

An alternate to DM for Backpacker and Men's Health Magazine is RecycleBank (free).

No cc information is taken, no auto-renew. You complete tasks on their site to earn pts and redeem for subscription. It doesn't take long.

Backpacker Magazine (1 Yr)
https://www.recyclebank.com/recyc...-com-12638

Men's Health Magazine (2 Yrs)
https://www.recyclebank.com/recyc...sues-12864

Wherever you order, you can order to extend a current subscription. If you do, be sure to use the exact same name/addy information that is on your current mailing label. If you aren't sure...you can log into your subscription account at the specific magazine website to verify your information.

Backpacker Magazine Customer Service
https://my.backpacker.com/pubs/WS...8802&vid=1

Men's Health Customer Service
https://w1.buysub.com/pubs/HR/MHL...2716&vid=1

If, despite using the same information, you start to receive duplicates. You can resolve the issue by contacting customer service at the specific magazine by calling or submitting information to customer service via your account online at the magazine website.

No thanks. These outfits will bill your CC at regular rates when the promo subscription period is over.

Hasn't been my experience. Used them a few times before. All magazines profit from advertising, so increasing subscription base cheaply doesn't hurt them as ad dollars go up with more readers.
... but I will check the local library as well for digital subscriptions. :-)
