Looks like there are products like this where you drill through to the inside and plug into the wall.

So it looks like it is 10 bucks cheaper than google right now plus the 6 months so this is pretty solid. I believe it has been 149.99 at Costco for black friday before but I'm not sure if that includes nest aware or not? Thanks OP think I'm finally going to bite on this deal. repped

The 6 months of Nest Aware is the 1st gen Nest Aware subscription.

It's 5 days of 24/7 video only for the doorbell and no other Nest products. The subscription does not work with the free mini that comes with the annual Nest subscription unless you upgrade to the new plans.

The 6 months is also considered prepaid and cannot be refunded or prorated when upgrading plans.

I bought the Nest Hello from Costco about 2 week ago and decided to return it for the Lowe's $179 (with $150+$30 gift card) deal. I wanted the free Mini and wanted Nest Aware for the other Nest products I'm purchasing.

Lastly, if it matters to anyone, Costco's Nest Hello is the older branding. Box says Nest Hello and doorbell has the Nest logo. On the newer ones, the box says Google Nest Hello and the G logo is on the doorbell.

Is it just the box and branding that's different? Or is the actual unit somehow an older hardware rev as well?

Edit: I see on Google's site it's inconsistent as well. Some pictures show "nest" wording in the middle of the unit's face but other pictures show the "G" logo. I haven't been able to find anything that suggests different internals..

Thanks for the detailed information and observations. Other than this doorbell and Google Home Hub 7", I don't plan on having any other Google cams. Nest Aware gen 1 should be sufficient for our doorbell only needs?

I previously bought this for $99 but wonder if that's newer (purchased Nov 2019) or this or they're the same. Will need to look for box and check the logo, still new in box.

As far as I know, it's just branding. One other minor difference I recall is the wedge. It's black in the newer rebranding and silver in the previous one.

I'm fairly certain the difference is just aesthetics. I didn't notice a difference in visual, sound, or activity monitoring.

The Nest Aware (1st generation) subscription should be sufficient if the hello will be your only nest cam.

There was no auto-renewal option with the 1st generation subscription. After 6 months, you will need to purchase the new plans if you want to continue with nest aware.

I bought this from Lowes for $179 - $20 ebay coupon. $159 for just the camera.

I also purchased the nest iq indoor cameras so likely will go for the nest aware plus offering.

Way better than ring doorbell. I had ring then switch to Google. Ring Always freez while you really need it.

The free mini is from Google. On the Nest Aware page, under the plans, it says receive a free mini with annual subscription.

I subscribed to Nest Aware Plus ($120/year) 2 days ago and received an email today for a free hub rather than the mini. The email's subject reads "You've got a Nest Hub (Charcoal) to redeem at Google Store".

A Slickdeals thread was recently posted about the free mini with annual subscription. A few mentioned they also were offered the hub instead of the mini. Seems random.
