Just a FYI. I purchased 2 of these last go-round and have been using for ~ a week now. You can add and control up to 12 separate outlets with the app. So far they were not only easy to set up but have performed perfectly.

will this iot plug go rogue and take out your LAN of things?

speaking of security, a reviewer says anyone on your network can control them.

also, if the company goes belly up and shuts down their servers these will fail to operate as they require the cloud.

Can't answer to that but during setup while connected with WiFi my cell (with app) had no trouble recognizing each WiOn device.

Sorry again, am using a home router with password. Plus I'm rural with no close neighbors.

You have the option to save settings to be stored in cloud or local. I chose local.

Words to comply

Not sure if same unit but similar chip that can be hacked. I found this interesting:

When people started taking these apart for reverse engineering they also discovered another dirty little secret. By using a program called WireShark that sniffs network transmissions and packets they discovered that these devices were SENDING YOUR WIFI SSID AND PASSWORD IN THE CLEAR TO AN OVERSEAS SERVER.

DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE AND USE IT IN YOUR HOME. If you do realize that you have no expectation of security or privacy

I bought their outdoor stake power strip. Haven't been able to connect it to WiFi. The app is a complete buggy mess. The app hasn't even been updated for iPhone X screen so it looks blurry and you get the black bars on top and bottom. Most of the times it just fails to open at all.

There's been more of this company's deals on here lately, likely promoted. I would stay clear from any of the crap this company sells.
