Dewalt 20V batteries

27 18 June 19, 2020 at 12:56 PM
I've had a deal alert for Dewalt set up for a while.

I have many of the older 18V tools and just bought the battery adapter to allow the use of 20V batteries with the older tools. I keep getting a lot of alerts for the tools, but I really need a couple of batteries plus charger at a good deal. Would prefer something in the 4-5 A-hr range.

I see just batteries, or tools with batteries, but not a charger/battery kit, or a good deal on them individually. At least not from name-brand retailers.

Thanks!

You might check 'The Bay' and see if anything floats your coconuts. The DCB205-2CK kit can be found for around $125-$130. Individual 4Ah and 5Ah batteries can be had for about $45 and $55 respectively. Occasionally there will be a post here for two DCB206 6Ah batteries on Amazon for $129 and then you'd just have to pick up a charger - once again, on the Bay for about $25. I've never had a single issue with buying and receiving genuine batteries on there, and I myself have probably sold 60 or 70 over the years - all genuine. Its usually pretty easy to spot a fake listing. Those are about the lowest regular non-factory authorized prices you'll easily find. If you're looking for something lower than that you'll likely have to hold out for either a price mistake or a good deal on a kit that you're willing to part out to get some of your money back from. These are just my experiences. YMMV.

Thanks. I'm seeing some deals on Amazon, but concerned about the sellers.

Lowes and Amazon themselves sell the charger with 2 5.0 A-hr batteries for $199 (DCB205-2CK "starter kit" that you described).

Alternate Amazon sellers are selling for $141-169.

Any thoughts on non-factory-authorized listings or pricing? I'm assuming no warranty applies, not sure how critical that is for charger and batteries as opposed to the tools...
