Nintendo Switch (red/blue) Gamer Bundle includes Animal Crossings, Zelda, Minecraft, and Pro Controller $500

Save $20 off paying retail for everything.

Here's how I justify it

Switch $300
Pro Controller $65
Animal Crossing $55
Zelda $55
Minecraft (Digital) $25

I mean it beats scouring for one and paying more than retail.

Buy GameStop gift cards from Raise to make your dollar go farther. But this might sell it in the mean time so IDK if you want to risk that. Raise is very finicky with cancelling orders.

Please don't thumbs up or down based on anything other than if you think this is a good deal or not for this hard to find item.

At least it doesn't appear that you are paying more than retail for what you are getting, but that's $220 more than most people want to pay to get a Switch and and then buy ONLY the games/accessories they really want.

The CostCo deal was $50 extra, but at least that includes items you either need (the 128GB flash card) or should have (the case and screen protector). The Switch Online family membership (normal price is $35) is a bit more debatable because some people may only need the Individual membership.

But I don't think the Family Membership in the CostCo is intended to increase the cost of the package, but is really just intended to avoid having customers get upset when they discover the online/multi-player features aren't available or they actually needed the Family code instead of the Individual code.

I wasn't willing to pay for one of these GameStop bundles, but I was willing to pay (and just ordered) one of the CostCo bundles. It all depends on how long you've been waiting and how badly you want a Switch console. Everyone has to make the decision that makes sense to them, but it doesn't stop me hating GameStop for pulling crap like these super-expensive bundles and never selling the consoles by themselves.

It's only $200 more. Not $220. It's $220 worth of the best selling switch games and best selling accessory. What's the point of that online switch membership again? They gave that membership away for free last year to people with twitch prime IIRC. Seems pointless imo for the switch demographic. How much is a Costco membership?

My mistake...you are right that this bundle is only $200 more (I was thinking of the prior GameStop bundle).

The online switch membership isn't nearly as nice as the Xbox or PS services, but it is also much less expensive (at least at retail price).

The main benefits are:
- Cloud game saves
- Online multi-player
- Access to 70+ classic NES and SNES games

Also it was Amazon/Twitch that had a promotion for 1 year of Switch Online, not Nintendo. And like many Nintendo things, it hasn't been discounted nearly as much or as often as non-Nintendo things.

CostCo memberships are not cheap, but many people have them (almost everyone I know, but then again we have several CostCo stores in the area). I certainly wouldn't get a CostCo membership just to buy a Switch, but if you do have one, they provide great service for returns and other issues.

I think for the CostCo bundle, they are trying to include the stuff that most people want or expect (such as online multi-player), just like the do with their Xbox and PS bundles. The GameStop bundles are cash grabs to extort as much money out of people as possible due to scarcity of the consoles.

That doesn't mean this isn't a good value for someone that actually wants all of those games and accessories...apparently it was a good enough value to have already sold out.

I would have probably purchased this for my daughter instead of the switch light / Mario kart bundle and then buying Animal Crossing. Always happens...

I know I should have posted it earlier for the Slickdeals community when I saw it like hours ago but was out and about.

Both options have their perks for sure. You have some good points idk what GameStop was doing yesterday when they charged $20 more for this bundle with the gray joy cons. Take care.

Don't regret getting the switch light...you can now wait for a non-bundle full-size Switch for $300 and for the price of this Gamestop bundle you'll have two consoles, can buy many good games at sale prices and maybe even get some top Nintendo games when they go on sale (I was able to get digital versions of Mario Party, Mario Kart, Super Mario Odyssey and others for around $40 each instead of the normal $60, using store credits I purchased at 15% off.

Also, while the Switch Pro controller is very nice, I'm very happy using my 8bitdo controllers which I picked up on sale for $30 - $40 each.

I'd rather buy from an eBay scalper than GameStop.

You can get Aninmal Crossings for $49.94 @ Walmart. Pro Contoller is also in stock for $59. Zelda is frequently availble for $50 or less. The bundle is an overpay based on commonly available prices, but not by a lot. I guess if you really want the games then it is OK.

Good prices. So yeah they are getting an extra $11 out of you but shipping it to your door.

I guess we can be somewhat thankful that they aren't bundling games that nobody wants at full price, but it would be better if they would just sell the damn consoles without the bundles.
