Lowes has the CRAFTSMAN 24-in D x 40-in W x 72-in H 5-Tier Plastic Freestanding Shelving Unit on sale for $49.98. The original price was $74.98 so save 33%. I am not saying these have never been on sale but I have never seen them for less than $74.98 but I do not check often. This is a good price IMHO. We have one at home and we really like it. Compared to other shelves in the price range with shelves this deep there are no comparisons, again, IMHO. Well made, balanced with locks/pens so you can chain multiple units.

The 24x40 5-tier shelf is the perfect addition to any garage. Using the provided hardware, you can connect multiple units together in any direction for layout customization and added stability. The provided wall mount bracket helps keep the unit stationary and minimizes the risk of tipping.

250 pound capacity per shelf

Modular shelving system

Square poles for extra strength

Capable of connecting multiple units

uh, I think you misinterpreted his comment...
Have 2 of these shelves. They are great, they are deeper than most other shelves so make sure you have the room. They are very strong and come with pegs to lock them to other shelves next to them making them stronger as a unit. Very sturdy and well worth the money even at $60. Don't hesitate to buy.
Hers is a YouTube video showing a bin in the shelve

Dang, way better than those honeycando and similar sets at this price. Wish I could justify upgrading.

If you don't need 24'' deep, consider these metal wire shelves [samsclub.com].

These are super sturdy and also portable with wheels.

I saw these in person yesterday. They feel sturdy and are thick plastic that look likes it will last for a while That being said, I am not crazy about the look. Blocky and Bulky....and...plastic. I prefer metal shelving (wire etc.). However you cant beat the price. Other shelving units have some weight rating; the description says not tested by a 3rd party.

This or the Costco TRINITY 4-Tier Indoor Wire Shelving Rack, 36" x 14" x 54" on sale for $45? https://www.costco.com/trinity-4-...38132.html
I see the major difference is plastic vs. wire, but this one is bigger.
Which one is better for basement and garage? TIA,

I would normally suggest the wire instead of the plastic shelves, but the one at Costco is 14" deep vs the 24" depth of the listed one from Lowes. If using bins with the shelves, make sure to measure them before purchase. I purchased several of the ones previously listed at Home Depot that came in at 72" x 36" x 18" for $30.00. See https://slickdeals.net/f/14120894-5-tier-plastic-garage-storage-shelving-unit-29-98-home-depot?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1.

These look like a step up from the basic plastic shelves. They're deeper and the can connect to each other and the wall.
