Home Depot is having a Father's Day special right now on Ridgid tool boxes. Free RIDGID Pro Organizer (205440492) with Purchase of RIDGID Pro Tool Box and Gear Cart (205440481, 205441921)

Add all three items to get the discount (29.99)

205440492
205440481
205441921

Not as good of a deal as Black Friday last year when the set was 70.91, but decent nonetheless. Was gonna get this as a father day's gift.

you are so wrong. I'm a contractor and these boxes are almost bullet proof. I've beaten the sh*t out of them.
After 3 years of rolling them up and down the stairs full of tools and pulling them through mud and dirt one of the wheels started to come loose. Locks and latches are all metal, not flimsy plastic like all the rest. Will never buy another brand of tool box.
Notice how during fathers day sales it's all about having the men work even more, while for the ladies it's generally jewelry, clothing and other items, mostly non work related? When did contrast started happening? Just an observation. Sorry for the off topic post.
keep in mind, the ~$70 price last year was a malfunction in the way the discount was applied upon checkout, not an actual advertised sale price. That likely wont happen ever again. This $100 price point is the typical lowest price youll find these.

I easily sold mine on ebay, practically paid for the boxes themselves.

The few inserts give off an out gassing that smells like Chinese cancer. I took them out and tossed them.

Oh, I didn't realize that was a price mistake. I even let it sit at the store for like 2-weeks while I mulled over keeping it.

Good to know I can sell the inserts, I tossed them in a garbage bag and placed it in the garage attic space. So you too noticed the horrendous odor?

The odor is a common issue with these, especially around high -turnover times, where they didnt sit on the shelves at depot. Set them in the sun for a day or two, helped mine.

The 205440492 toolbox shows unavailable for shipping, any way to get it to ship by changing stores or other tricks?

I'm a Ridgid tools, but cannot see myself with their storage box. Very generic cheap made. I ended up getting the Milwaukee storage box. Way better made and quality.

I love these I have a combination of about 20 total cases. Are the Milwaukee or the Dewalt ones better? yeah sure, but mine get used and to some point abused so spending that much money on something that gets beat up on job sites seems ridiculous to me.

These are good enough and I have wanted an extra rolling box for awhile as I hate having to empty and reload it depending on what I am doing that day.

They're very durable but the rubber seal they picked seems like the wrong size. It's as if they used a smaller gauged rubber gasket so it's not properly touching the actual box to create a proper seal all around. So basically it's sitting flushed inside the groove.

Rigid quality went way downhill from when these were first sold at Home Depot. I was in awe at the thickness and sturdiness of the boxes. When the Black Friday deal came around, I bought 7 units 3-piece units. When I got them home, I was seriously disappointed at how they cheapened them. Not the same quality at all. I'd rather go with Milwaukee at this point.
