Are these effective as back surround speakers? I currently have a 3.1 (fr/fl/c/lfe).
I use these as side surrounds, but not as rear surrounds. I have 703 in the rear. Side surrounds 5.1 are probably the next step before going full 7.1 or more

Just installed these today as my side surrounds.

They replaced the older model lsi f/x and so far so good. I'm noticing better sound accuracy then the lsi f/x and atmos blends better then the bipole speakers.

I have the entire line of lsim now and they are powered by a monoprice monolith 7 amplifier hooked up to a Yamaha 3070.

I use these as front heights and they work great.

I was thinking about using these as rear heights. Do you have them mounted sideways with the tweeters pointed down?

The real question is, have these ever actually sold for $1,499.95.
speakers have a 90 point margin at list price. Landed cost of these about 150 dollars.

It's sad on speakers how the MSRP are nearly always so far off that it becomes a mission to track down actually regular selling prices vs current "deals"

How would these compare against the Polk Audio FXI A6 surround speakers which have a lower MSRP and have great reviews? Reviews seem quite limited for the LSiM 702.

I've been very happy with my Polk center speaker. In for a pair of surrounds at this price.

I cannot remember where I read the review (it was the last time these came up for sale), but the LSiM 702 F/X were preferred over the FXI A6 for accuracy and fuller sound. However, the reviewer also sated the 702 were massive in comparison and only recommended these if you have the space for them. That said, check the size out to ensure you can place these speakers, but these are otherwise highly recommended especially at $350 which is a steal.

I guess this is a dumb question but if you want a 7.2 system, these would represent the 2 rear? Or the 2 middle surrounds? Or you can buy 4 of these for surround and rear? Or?

I am not an audio expert but the recommendation for this speaker is that you mount where there is a wall that bounce back the audio, mainly as middle surround. I have this as rear for my 5.2.2 and it is ok for rear mainly because one side do not have a wall to reflect the audio and speaker is not exactly behind my seat. I paid $399 with $25 AMEX CB which is available right now on some accounts

Yeah the 703 705 707 may be gone for good. Or a limited supply round will come some day in future
Please don't hurt my feelings. Still mad I haven't picked up 703s at $450 a pair.
