I have this exact monitor, I purchased it in April.
It does have a TN panel, but it has some sort of glazed panel and looks fantastic. Best TN I have ever seen.
Response time is wonderful, colors are pretty decent. I'd say one of the best 2K monitors (FOR THIS PRICE RANGE AND RESPONSE TIME)
and yeah yeah yeah, you and your dog found an 8k 244hz monitor with .001ms response time at the dollar tree 8 months ago. Thanks for that info, congrats.
This is a decent deal given the current market, and price of higher tiered gaming monitors. Unless you are going to spend hundreds more, you'll be hard pressed to find this quality of monitor.

If you have any Dell related deals, that makes this a steal.

That's my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth. I play 2K resolution games every day and I'm very pleased.

I have 2 of the S2716DG's.... I wonder if it would be worth the extra screen real-estate to go to these.

Then again.... the S27 Gsync certified, these are not despite being able to support it.

How does this compare to the LG 27GL83A-B?

27", 1440p, G-/FreeSync enabled, 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, fully adjustable stand, and IPS panel for $379.99 on Amazon?

Yeah, I bought the S2716DG from SD when it was like $300 or something like that, I love it for gaming.

This is a really good comparison between the two monitors: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/to...usage=9087 - rtings does really in-depth reviews on all sorts of things.

I'm not trying to troll here but... I bought a ASUS TUF VG27AQ on Amazon for around $420, it's the #1 rated gaming monitor on rtings IPS 2k 165 1ms Gsync. And I thought to myself this isn't even a "slick deal". How do we justify this Dell? I mean you spend $70 more and get yourself a top of the line. Am I missing something here?

This isn't slick. This monitor was selling sub $300 before this pandemic hit.

These were $270 in March. I bought mine a couple weeks before the $270 deals for $299 on Amazon.

Not quite a slick deal, as others have mentioned they occasionally go sub $300, but it is a great monitor. Yes it's TN, but I use it mostly for gaming and I'm seated right in front of the monitor so I'm not affected by color wash at angles. 144hz refresh rate (overclock to 155hz), 1440p, USB slots are useful, and it has good range of swivel motion including portrait orientation for you coders.

I bought this monitor over a year ago for under $300. Great monitor for sure but it could be had for less.
