I have this and we're not happy with it. It probably lasted all of 2 days before it stopped working.

My personal observation is that all Vtech toys look and sound great, but we have never been able to get good use out of them, because, either, 1) they stop working, or 2) they are gimmicky and do not provide a lot of entertainment value.

With the possible exception of the wobbling ball toy, which is the only one that held my babies attention.

I have had success with the VTech Musical Rhymes Book for my infant, he's loved that book for months (he's 9 months now). Hesitant to pull the trigger on this one though since he might be a bit young for all the words in here.

Vetch is the brand we have been the most satisfied with. I have the exact opposite opinion as yours.

That's fair, thanks for recognizing that these are opinions. I'm glad that you have had better experience.

We have owned the Vtech sit to stand walker, ultimate activity cube, kidizoom duo, the one in OP, wobbling ball and many others. They have all been afflicted with some technical or mechanical issues and have just proven to be waste of money. Latest purchase was the kidizoom camera ... it will not even be detected by the computer via USB cable Mad

Leapfrog [target.com] also sells something similar for $17.99 (regular price). We have it and my 14m daughter seems to like it.

We've had a few Vtech toys. They seemed to last pretty well and the babies like them, but they are some of the most annoying noisemakers.

Great gift for a baby you don't live with!

These touch books are very sensitive. My kid have attention of 2 seconds and his hands are everywhere and this book would continuous talking anywhere he touches. Even their activities table too and those vtech books

We have the 100 words version and our daughter loves it. It does get annoying when they just randomly hit stuff, but hey, they are learning, right?
