I have had this subscription before and it is absolutely GOOD coffee, especially if you appreciate totally different kinds of taste profiles, roasted and shipped immediately after roasting. You can pick whole-bean or ground, I think. I just had too much coffee building up and had to stop for a while. Note this discount is only on the 1st order, but you do get a better price compared to store retail and free shipping, at least that's the way it was when I was subscribing.

For all those that say "I can get xxx at Sam's Club or Costco" that is fine -- there are pretty good coffees sold in larger bags there at a decent price. If you always want to taste the same fairly-good coffee every day, those are better choices for you. If you want to see how a flavor of one region differs from another, how the roast is done, the freshness of having it shipped the same week of roasting, then you might appreciate this.
Man ya'll really need to chill. Peet's makes good coffee and $18/lb for this small batch coffee is easily in-line with local roasters. If you're into supporting your local roaster great, by all means promote them, but enough this blanket bashing of companies and products you've probably never tried before is annoying. I'd be shocked if any of you have purchased a single bag of the small batch stuff at your local grocery store. At mine it's $10 for a 10oz bag of this small batch series and you're getting coffee roasted a month prior instead of the day before.

It's in the OP, but just to emphasize:
  • Valid on your first shipment of a new Frequent Brewer Subscription (including Coffee and Tea items) or Curated Subscription (including the Small Batch Series, Single Origin Series, and Signature Blend Series).
  • Applies to first order only. Subsequent orders within the subscription will be charged at full price.
Still a nice deal to try some new beans!

Having ordered from Peets, I will say the coffee varieties aren't the best, especially as I prefer lighter roasts, however the freshness of the beans still makes it excellent coffee.

I've been on their subscription program for a few months now, but the promo works on my account. I've been ordering their Signature Blend subscription though, so maybe it's first time Small Batch subscriptions. 40% is a pretty good deal. The most I've gotten is 30% off previously.

Code also works on a two pound subscription making the price $10.20 per pound or on a three pound subscription for $9.60 per pound.

For about the same price I can support my local roaster (and it will be fresher) rather than a billion-dollar company.

Edit: YMMV on the pricing, their normal subscription price is $18/lb. My point being for about the same price you can support your local roaster if you're really into fresh roasted artisan coffee.

Wow, you can get these same beans from your local roaster for the same price? I don't frequent local roasters much but based on what my friends (who are into local roasters) tell me, they're paying at least upwards of $15-20 (on the low-end) for each 1lb bag. This is in Southern California, so I guess it depends on where you are too.

I doubt for this price, most shops i have been to are $15 for a 12oz bag although much fresher than anything you can get from petes. Stumptown does 5lb bags of Hairbender for $75 shipped and it is 3 days from roast, its good coffee for espresso and drip.

In my area, there's a roaster called Bodhi Leaf - they're really good. They often have sales where you can get them for around $10 but you have to go pick it up at one of their locations. Not bad but not the same as having something shipped to you (this goes back to the whole "I can get this at Costco for the same price as what it's selling for on Amazon or slightly less" argument)
