Total piece of garbage. Inherent design flaw where fertilizer gets concentrated in wheel wells and then falls out in a concentrated line and leaves lines throughout your yard. Search reviews, very common problem. It's hilariously bad. Happened to both me and my neighbor and we both returned ours to HD.
OK price, but IMHO, the best spreader in the plastic wheel residential category by far is the Vigoro model sold by HD. It doesn't appear to have the "wheels fall off" problem that all these Scott's models do.

Good deal for this spreader but I would invest in something better in quality like the Echo RB 60. I had this same one and got streaks in my lawn from fertilizer getting stuck in the wheels.

I have zero experience with a Vigoro (I'm assuming it's similar to this as HD's website only has a Vigoro hand spreader, which obviously would NOT have a "wheels fall off" problem...) but I will say that I've been 100% happy with my Earthway 2050SU. But it also it was more than double the price of this one. And I've only used it for a a little over a year (maybe 6 applications to a 1/3 acre yard...) thus far.

Been using this for five years. No issues whatsoever. I agree w the other comment that occasionally some product builds up in wheel spokes and comes out in a line, but in my experience it's been a minor amount if at all.

On another note, I've never been able to find the Scott's application rate guide for this, to convert the number into lbs/sqft. Does anyone have a link to that?

I have this spreader and it is a complete POS. I "spread" milorganite across the yard and two weeks later came out to find green lines across my whole yard. This spread sucks at the only thing it is intended to do (spread). Do yourself a favor and buy a more professional spreader on amazon.

It's extremely ineffective of properly delivering the amount specified. Buy a better one.

Have had this more than several years. No complaint. The Edgeguard is really convenient. The unit is pretty light, which makes it easy to handle. Not sure how you got the green lines on the lawn with this light spreader.

I have a pretty modest lawn so I only use this about 2-3 times a year max. For that it is fine. My lawn is pretty flat but it has tipped over on me once or twice so don't load fertilizer on the lawn. If you're a commercial landscaper or lawn enthusiast you might want a better one but again for part time use and at this price I think it's a good buy.
