I just submitted my first offer at Greentoe for an 85" version of the Q90T Samsung 4k TV. It was accepted in about 6 minutes, so makes me wonder if I should have put in a lower initial offer (I did put in $4,000).

I think any authorized purchase of this TV will be about $4,597 + tax, taking you closer to $5,000 after all is said and done. I'm pretty happy to have this behemoth join the family.

I hope all of you realize you're paying Q90 prices for the Q80. This is a vastly inferior TV to the 2019 Q90 and is a Q80.

Oof. I wish I could stomach the purchase of such a thing, but the rapidly bleeding depreciation of the unit would soak all the hardwood floors and go all over the living room.

This is true. Which is why I'm waiting. $3k for an 85 inch qled tv is reasonable.

I think a fairer comparison would be that we're paying for a Q80R equivalent, as this is not priced at the same level as the Q90R. Obviously comparing a Q90R after a year or so vs a 3 month old Q90T price today is going to tilt towards Q90R.

I also think vastly inferior to the Q90R is not as black and white based on my research and from what i've seen on HDTV test/rtings.com (basically identical despite # of dimming zones being significantly reduced on the Q90T)/allthingstech, etc. I am a fan of weakening the viewing angle layer so i get some more of the native contrast back as i'm watching head on.

Well, i'm just hoping i get a solid panel and look forward to years of enjoying this 85" bad boy. Cheers.

All the reviews so far say Q90T performs better than or the same as last year's Q90R, with HDMI2.1 support for next gen console. It also has a larger size 85' vs 82'.

Unlikely. Last year's 82 Q80R hasn't reached 3k yet so far.
