Older generation is more expensive believe it or not
Actually there is a company that is taking pre orders on a Ryzen 7 4800 (very close to a Ryzen 9)... you can buy the system with no OS, no HD and no RAM.... (my kind of deal)... for a 17.3" with ugrading cooling, the price was $1,100.00 ($50 off during pre order).

To me if you wanted a "high" end 17.3" laptop with a 2060 GPU, this would be the one... IMHO.

But FOR ME, this is already old and there are much better deals to be had.
I'm in the market for a backup lappy around this price up to 700 or so, and the newer Ryzen 5 in the touchscreen Envy that's 600 knocks this processor outta the park.
I'm not sure i've seen anything close to this on 17" though. 14-15" sure, plenty of deals, but 17"? not many. maybe I missed them

I completely agree BUT BUT BUT, expect to pay more $$$
Until more 17.3" 4000-series laptops come out, yes.
If you're OK with a 15", $541 will get you the new hotness when it's on sale.

I completely agree.... if your budget is $500- $600; Ryzen 5 4000 series is the way to go. But sometimes you can get lucky with a i7.

JCPenney used to use a model that got rid of the trickery. Once they found out people liked sales, they switched back. Now they are so into sales everything is being liquidated, lol.
J Penny used to do what kohl's is doing now. It was good until the new ceo came in and wrecked everything. Far too late to save them now
