Are the costco prices on the balls different for online v instore?
they're usually $35 pre tax when they go on sale
For a 20 pack case that's around $1.75 per can

Guessing they're $30 in the store only?

Not bad if you need a single can or small number of cans. However, if you play regularly, you are better off getting 12 cans for $25 (works out to $ 2.08/can) which is is normal to find (Dick's, Walmart, etc). The current Costco deal is 20 cans for $35, or $1.75/can, but out of stock online.

Note that the $2.17 ones are "regular-duty" tennis balls that are meant for softer surfaces like clay. The fuzz will wear out faster than the "extra-duty" balls that you would typically find at Costco.

Costco currently sells a box of 20 cans of Penn for $29.99. That's $1.50 for a can of 3.
