Don't use around kids, use tapioca pearls (edible) instead. I know they're non toxic but they expand and can do a lot of internal damage.

I got these for my classroom, I teach elementary students in a special education classroom. They love them. Get a tub, add water and fill with beads. It's a great sensory break. But they bounce everywhere, so be careful.

We let them air dry and they shrink back down in a few days. You can add food coloring to them and the clear ones absorb it. The colored ones too... but it's much less noticeable. It's kind of cool

I closed my eyes for a second and all I can see is my kid dumping the jar down the toilet, flushing and running away laughing.
