I got 4800h version for 717$ after amex offer. Amex credited 120 as soon as order was delivered.

I do not think we have similar spec at this price. Every other laptop is pricing at 999$ at least for similarly configured

Anyone able to order anything other than the 51Wh battery?! It's obnoxious that most of the reviews say great battery life... but mention a 68 Wh battery that it isn't possible to buy!

Amex offered me the $120 deal so I'm debating getting an upgrade for the wife. Coming from a 6700HQ with a Geforce 960M. But she likes the 17.3" screen...

The high end configuration is the only one with the larger battery option.

Pretty good price if you have the Amex offer for sure. Would have been better if it was the 144hz panel, but can't find info on the specs to confirm that.

Reviews suggest good CPU performance, but below par graphics performance. Comparable to GTX 1660 Ti apparently but well short of 2060. But again at this price I double you will find a 2060 laptop.
The 5600M is better than the 1660, and close to on par with a 2060 mobile.

When taken as a whole, the Dell gaming laptop with Radeon RX 5600M graphics is able to run games at a level close to the mobile GeForce RTX 2060 and at a slightly lower performance-per-watt.

My current gaming PC I built is 6 years old now. Running i5-4690K, AMD R9 290 4GB, 16GB RAM, and 500GB EVO SSD. Haven't even looked at PCs or laptop since so don't know all the changes that have been made.

Specs on this laptop look to be an improvement on that.. Would it make an ok steam box to hook up to a 4K tv? (Will probably only game in 1080P).

TIA!!

Wait so you can configure it?! I'll check again - I was on mobile earlier. Ah ha, OK it's a bit pricier, but at least has the 300-nit 144Hz screen. But after 10% and $120 Amex, this is $1095 with the 68 Wh battery.

Ah ha! Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB, 1TB, 300-nit 144Hz, 68 Wh [dell.com]

This is $1345 with 68 hr battery if you decline the $5/mo premium support. After 10% $1210.50 + tx, and if you can get Amex $120 offer, $1090.50 + tx.

I have AMEX offer. Should I get this to upgrade from my 2013 MBP retina or wait for the back-to-school promotions?

I am not a real expert at computer specs, but I do light gaming, some 3d modeling, some video editing, and some programming (and yeah I can't do gaming, 3d modeling with my 2013 MBP.)

This G3 was on sale a couple days ago with a student special. I ended up getting it for $745. Is this laptop much better? I don't know much about AMD GPUs or Chips, but the one I currently have on the way GeForce 1660 TI, and a 9th generation i5. Wondering if it is worth ordering this instead. Downside is this one has 256 in storage vs 512.

How did you get it for $717? won't it be close to $745 even with Amex offer?

I wonder if the 4600h might run cooler though. The 4800h gets really hot based on the reviews.
I bought the 4800h few weeks back and haven't seen cpu go over 70-80c range even during games.

Feels warm on keyboard just like my MacBook pro.

I got the base model with 60hz and upgraded cpu alone.

You need a bunch of cards with a bunch of AUs... that's the best way to get all the promos
How does AU (guessing that's authorized users) make a difference in terms of offers? I missed out on a number of Amex offers in the past (have had 3/4 cards with them for a while now).. LUCKILY, got it on my card this time. Wondering if it is all luck or is there something I can do to get better chances at the offers?!
