I have an old ass TV that only has 2 HDMI inputs. I have one of those push button 2-port splitters for like eight bucks to connect three devices to it. This would probably be a bit nicer (but larger). TV is only 1080p so lack of 4k/60 is no big deal to me.
The issue in your use case would not be the lack of 4k60 support, but rather the lack of HDCP support. Without that you may get everything from intermittent picture loss to solid black/green/purple screen when the source (BluRay, cable box, game console) fails to synchronize security with the switcher and/or TV.

Good luck!
Jon

I had this unit to swap a monitor between two PCs and it would not consistently work. I returned it and purchased a more expensive reliable unit from TESmart which works fine.

This seems like a solid referral. I just got a Dolby Atmos sound bar and need something for my PS4 Pro, AppleTV 4K, and SteamLink to my 4K TV.
This doesn't appear to be Atmos compatible. If any single part isn't, the whole chain won't work. I had to make sure my 4k player was set a very way as well. Need to make sure you have the compatible cables. I got compatible Monoprice ones.

My receiver has an info button to tell me what kind of signal is coming in and going out. It wouldn't read Dolby Atmos until then for the output.

The lack of HDCP is clear from the following:
  1. Support for HDCP would so significant as to be clearly included in the specifications and the manual [ssl-images-amazon.com] (it is not mentioned in either)
  2. The price is far below the price range of 4k HDCP devices
  3. The reviews pretty clearly distinguish between positive reviews (worked fine with a computer, projector and other devices which don't care about HDCP) and the negative reviews (TVs and game consoles, many of which depend upon HDCP support)
This is fine for switching some computers to a projector, but would be worthless for any traditional video source (BluRay, cable box) without additional equipment to manage HDCP. As such it's almost false advertising on the part of an AmazonBasics product (which are usually more clearly labeled).

Good luck!
Jon
thanks jon for confirming that, i don't know what we would do without you!

lmfao a $1 off and it's now a fire deal? As if the bar couldn't get any lower as to what constitutes being "slick"

Original price of the one in your link is $11 according to Keepa. The original price for the switch in the OP here is $30.

Hi newb. Never believe Amazon's crossed out pricing, it's almost always wrong. I'd check price trackers before making silly comments like this. It's $20 off the original price.

Thanks for pointing that out! I was looking (not really planning on buying) at a 4-port box with remote that claims to have HDCP 2.2 and 4k/60 that costs $24.

Yeah, you got it the opposite way bud. It's the msrp you shouldn't be looking at here because that in no way shape or form represents the real world price. According to CCC, this product has been $30 for the grand minority of its time. It would be incredibly stupid to base your savings off mrsp in this context.

You're speaking to SDers here...we know the difference between a "$x off msrp" and an actual deal. The first (and most popular) post even calls this out.

OK so I'm confused as to what my silly comment was when you're in agreement with me.
