So they just price match it to Costco? At least now you don't need a Costco membership to get one.

Costco has 512GB drive, pen included and possible free 4yr warranty extension using Citi.

You're right. I guess this isn't a slick deal then.

Not possible, definitely with Costco Citi card.

Are other laptops going to be released later in the year with this processor? Can't take the bezel on this one otherwise I would have bought the Costco one, even though I don't need a touchscreen. Any other options? I haven't seen any good ones.

I purchased this from Costco. First had pixel defects, relatively minor but bothered me nonetheless. Exchanged it for another one, which made really annoying coil whine (high pitched squealing) whenever sound was being played above 40% volume. Returned it because I couldn't get used to it. Specs look awesome on paper, even had a quality SSD (Samsung), but QA seems to be lackluster. Case definitely seemed high quality (though the hinges were razor sharp on the sides), but HEAVY. And tablet mode at 15" is awkward, but I expected that and didn't plan on using it that way. I would only buy this from Costco because of their good exchange/return policy and extended warranty. My experience was rather disappointing. Otherwise, awesome performance and specs.

I've never heard of anyone actually getting the extended warranty to work, and many tales of it not working.
But I'm sure you've gotten it to work, right?

Besides, if you open the case the warranty's busted anyway, and w/ only 8gb it's gonna be worthlessly slow unless you only keep 1 program open w/ nothing in the background, around 5 tabs in a browser w/ minimal extensions... ESPECIALLY co*nsidering the GPU eats into the RAM on AMD chips...
And that's AFTER optimization, which few will do.

And, oh yeah, you have to be a member of Costco, which sucks...

So there's very little difference in specs, just 256gb of HD space, and a dirt-cheap pen.
The fact that this is getting dissed so hard while that deal's got the score it does is wild.

IF you're a Costco member, this is *ever* so SLIGHTLY less of a deal.
And I'm not a member, bc Costco blows just as much as any big-box hellscape, and even though this is gonna be a 3rd-string machine I'm only gonna have for a niche use, there's still no way anyoneshould suffer through an effectively 4-6gb RAM experience in 2020, even for the minimal use it'll get.

A 60-pg thread, insane rep score vs crickets/constant complaining for what's effectively, what, a $20 savings, if that?
AND YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF COSTCO!
And THEN sign-on to their CC to get the fake extended warranty that nobody who'll actually render the comp usable will be able to take advantage of, anyway!
lmao
People here are crazy.

Neither of these deals are very slick. Wait for a real one

"Heard"? You are telling me that you are not a Costco member and you "heard" that no-one receiving extended 4 years warranty on laptops? The extended 2+ year policy is stated by both Costco and Citi (Issued bank) if you USE the Costco Citi Card when you purchase laptops at Costco. And of course, you have to have a Costco membership to apply for the Costco Citi Card. You don't understand the Costco perks if you are not a Costco member. The benefits I get from Costco are greater than the money I paid toward membership fee which is $120/year. Be experienced yourself and stop calling other people crazy.

I don't argue about the upgrading part. The manufacturer will void your warranty if you open it up no matter what retailers you buy from.

On the other hand, this deal is slick. You can't find other deals that is better than this at this specs and price. Looks at Amazon and Bestbuy for the same model. They are the same price as the Costco deal but lower specs.

What about the amazon Flex?

Yeah I agree with you on most if not all your points. But getting a $60 costco membership for an extra one year warranty from Costco (not citi) for a total of 2 years Costco warranty coverage is definitely cheaper than best buy's 2 year warranty if they have one.

No one voids your warranty for opening a PC.

And even if they did, are you gonna tell them?
