Dude there's not even a 5% difference between 2400mhz ram and 3600mhz ram on a 3900X. Even less of a difference between 3200mhz.

Sure, any DDR4 will work flawlessly on Ryzen. But Ryzen chips use a fixed 1800MHz memory bus, so anything slower than DDR4-3600 (which runs at 1800MHz) will require two cycles to access memory instead of just one, making your memory latency much worse that it would be.

But you don't have to take my word for it. AMD recommends 1800MHz RAM themselves.

In practice comparissons show that the difference is minimal for frame rates, for ex, between 3200 and 3600.
