$599 is the typical retail price, but the $120 gift card sweetens the deal if you're in the market for this receiver.

I paid $550 for an x3500 from sounddistributors. Not a fan of gift card deals unless it's a place I buy from often. Haven't bought anything from Newegg in years.

Is Newegg an authorized dealer for Denon?

Not a great deal, also the 80w RMS leaves a lot to be desired. Just going up to 90w makes a HUGE difference

However. If this is what you want.. Refurb is avail for $449 here, with a 3 year warranty (Better warranty than new!) with no gift card to deal with, I have purchased 4 Denon receivers here. https://www.accessories4less.com/...eos/1.html

I have been watching for a x2600 deal for a while now. I am cheap, but this isn't really much of a deal and the x2600 is a big step up. I would go for hte x3500 or x3600 but they wouldn't fit in my media center currently. Frown

I think that their stock is very low across the board and that is why this is whats currently considered a deal. But its just not a good one unless you can't wait.

I'd wait on this one. This is a 2019 model. 2020 were recently released (though I think they actually discontinued this base model - it would've been the X1700h, but now it's only X2700h and higher are made).

I'd expect this X1600h to get to ~$300 in a few months (that's what I paid for the X1400h when the X1500h was released).

Really? 10 extra watts makes a noticeable difference? That'd be very surprising to me, but then again I don't have both to do an A/B

It doesn't matter because none of the stated wattages on receivers are accurate. It's all a crap shoot.

That price is long gone. Has not been available for months at any price close to that. So, good luck to those with a time machine who can use that to base a good deal on.
And AVR-X3600h's have been low or out of stock at alot the major retailers lately. It's pretty unlikely that we'll see that 2019 model for $500 next month when the AVR-X3700h are released.

It's not really a crapshoot. Most major manufacturers don't lie about wattage, they just don't tell the whole story. It is up to the consumer to see how many channels their measure at.
This is a legit 80w per channel, but only at 2 channels. It is probably closer to 60w with 5 channels driven.

And as BMWZ8Bond said, there is not that big of a difference between 80w & 90w unless you are driving some inefficient speakers pretty hard or some crazy expensive ones. And no one is buying a receiver in this class if they spent $20k on speakers.

Here's the link to the $699 x3500...

Sorry, just joined to correct this. 10 watts extra means NOTHING in this context, let alone a "huge difference"...
Thank you! Read that post and thought, "this guy is full of it"

And also, I bought this receiver for $430 after tax and free shipping from an authorized seller a few weeks ago. No idea if they're still in stock but call around different independent AV retailers

Damn your stupid to buy any electronics now. The highest I have seen it ever. This usually goes for $299 to $350 at most. No one should buy any electronics now.

Damn you're stupid to assume I'm willfully wasting money. These are the new covid prices, deal with it. My Marantz SR5013 died on me and I needed a new receiver.
