How many years does samsung QLED last? Considering both hardware and software(the UI system). Can it run 7-10 years?
There is a burn-in review on OLED vs VA vs IPS. Both R70R and Q80T have VA panel.

I'm pretty uneducated at researching TV's as I'm still using a Panasonic plasma TV I've had since 2010 but I'm beginning to shop for a replacement. Is QLED Samsung's version of OLED?
I'm in the same boat, but LCD and been looking for 2months. My friend turned me onto Rtings.com and seems to be goto reference for any SDer too. Their experiments are very controlled.

Vizio, it has more dimming zones, highest contrast and deeper blacks.
Only challenge is getting the right panel, but customer service is super friendly and can request for replacement if panel is bad.
What commonly goes wrong? Dead pixels?

It's all about the Set. Oled C9 LG is usually tops on Sports list, Vizio P X does sports well.
But always use a consensus of reviews and I like the stats of RTings.com to find the right set for your purpose.

No one really should say a set is better unless they know your viewing habits/use, environment/lighting, view angles and more.
But then again most people just buy for Branding, looks good in store (Never Ever Do) or what have you... But likely they be happy with most anyways and not really caring is the get the maximum out of there set.

The 70R is not a bad set at all... Great brightness, gaming/movies is good, motion handling good... Thou little weak on sports and viewing angles.

But overall it's Way better then the 2020 Samsung sets just Turded out... They really went lazy for the current line up. Zero Dimming zones on the 70T for starters.

OLED for movies is accurate but QLED for sports is not accurate. OLED is for the best for movies when viewed in a pitch black room. Both are great for sports as long as the TV uses a native 120 Hz panel. For bright rooms that produce plenty reflections on the TV, the Q80 and Q90 TVs both have the best anti-reflective coating for glossy screens.

The Q70R uses a native 120 Hz refresh rate; except for the 49" size according to Rtings

Yes Samsung is being tricky with this years model designations. I noticed the 2020 q70t is about the same as the 2019 q60r, so the q70r here is between the 2020 q70t and q80t. I'm not sure if I should go with this one that has better contrast or the 2020 q80t which is slightly better overall but has poorer contrast.
Finally someone who understands this. I've been seeing so much misinformation because people have no idea what they are talking about. This year's and last year's model are not the same TV.

Anyone have experience with the Q70R versus the Q80R? I have a new 65" Q70R on order (at the $950 price), but a open box-satisfactory of the Q80R is available in my area for about $100 more. The Q80R seems to be a fairly big step up according to rtings.com.
