FWIW Westinghouse TV's are utter trash. From all my family and friends who have purchased their TV's, not a single one lasted over 2 years. That's from over 8 TV's. Only 1 was able to claim warranty when the TV crapped out on the 11th month, and it was still a pain going through their tech support, giving enough evidence, and fulfilling their recycling requirement (which cost money).

tl;dr: Buy Westinghouse if you need it for like a year, as it's a consumable product.

ah man this is such a good price for a 3440x1440p monitor. i am looking at the LG brand and it cost more than double this. lg has IPS and 144hz. the LG 2560x1080 version is even more expensive than this. i just dont know how the VA and 100hz is compare to the IPS and 144hz.
I actually prefer VA now. The contrast is significantly better, and prices are always lower. VA keeps getting better, honestly. Wouldn't buy this though, fark Westinghouse, and fark newegg. Their CS is awful now. I personally couldn't go back to anything lower than 144hz, so I'd save, and get the other. I've never really liked that 21:9 though, and some games do not properly support it.

They seriously need to give the advertising dept at Newegg some basic technical courses. Calling this a 2K monitor, shame on them. 2K is NOT 1440p.

You might want to reread that article. This monitor has better resolution than a 2k monitor. If you are using the same format to measure the resolution, this would be a 3.5k monitor.

Yea Newegg is notorious for having awful return policy on monitors. I think it's something like 8+ dead pixels to even get a replacement.
I don't shop at Newegg anymore having dealt with the horrible return policy on multiple times.

Why would anyone buy this over the LG 27GL83A-B? I guess other than some kind of blind devotion to "larger is better".

Yep. Purchased a Westinghouse monitor some years ago. Barely lasted 6 months.

Westinghouse is a horrible brand. I post it every time one of their products is posted. I've had 2 of their TV's in the past, and they didn't last more than 18 months before failing in various ways. This is clearly a brand that engineers to a price and doesn't care at all about quality longevity. Please don't buy this monitor, and please don't support this type of product.

Dont really trust westinghouse...havent heard many good things about this brand
Westinghouse's top priority is price point. I've torn down enough of their TV's to know they're not built to last much past the warranty period and are rarely serviceable because they put everything on one PCB and use glue instead of screws during assembly. Basically, if they fail, you throw them away.

While that's a great monitor, it's smaller, has an IPS panel (less contrast, traded for better response time/viewing angles), and most importantly is not an ultrawide. They're different beasts.

I agree. I honestly don't know why anyone buys them.

You can do much better for around the same price. Hell, some Dynex and Insignia (Best Buy house brands) were higher quality for similar prices.

Today you have Hisense and TCL which offer pretty incredible bang for buck...
