Obligatory reminder that the PC version of NieR: Automata has been abandoned by Platinum Games and Square Enix. The game is buggy, does not play well with AMD GPUs, and has not been patched to fix any of the issues at all. If you want to play it on PC, you will have to install the fan-made FAR patch to get it in working order, and even that may not be a guarantee that it'll work on your PC. If you must play this game, get the console version instead and save yourself a headache. Gamers should not have to rely on a third-party mod to get their game in working order.

Great game so far, but a lot of stutter issues (R5 3600, Vega 64) and max 60fps (the game locks it to this) FWIW.

There is a mod out there that supposedly fixes this (FAR mod), but it didn't fix the problem for me. It's not unbearable (for me / my setup), but something to be aware of.

You need to use the FAR mod [github.com]no matter what your hardware is.

As noted, it didn't fix the stutter for me.

You're using a Radeon, there's your problem.
Usually that is true, but search around and it's a pretty universal problem.

I'd rather play the console versions anyway in sweet 4k, but those copies hardly ever go on sale.

Fixed that for you.

And, this is on Game Pass last I knew.

Since you have FAR mod, try lowering the global illumination setting. That alone fixed almost every issue for me. Give it a shot.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I'm still enjoying the game, just thought it worth a mention for potential buyers.

PSA: This is the base version and CANNOT be upgraded to the GOTY edition later. Even buying the DLC, you will miss out on the "day one" exclusives that are now part of the GOTY.

You can technically do it, but you have to delete your prior purchase.

Fair warning in case it wasn't clear: This is not the Game of the YorHa Edition.
