I have been looking at this model and the model from Costco (https://www.costco.com/hp-envy-x3...71731.html) for a while now.

Here is a comparison between the two models. The specs are for the 4700U one, but otherwise, the rest is pretty much applicable to the 4500U laptop.
This model: 15m-ee0023dx
https://www8.hp.com/us/en/laptops...s/34370441
The Costco one: 15-ds1097nr
https://www8.hp.com/us/en/laptops...s/37506786

Main differences: 15m-ee0023dx vs 15-ds1097nr

- Screen-to-body ratio: 88% vs 79%.
- Battery: 3-cell, 51 Wh Li-ion vs 4-cell, 55.67 Wh Li-ion.
- USB-C port: 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ (10 Gb/s signaling rate) vs 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® (5Gbps signaling rate)
- Weight: 4.42 lb(2 kg) vs 4.53 lb( 2.05 kg)

I would love more input from people who owns these 2 laptops, especially the internals as I'm curious if you can upgrade the RAM or if there's any extra NVME slot in the 15m-ee0023dx model or not. Also, is there a big difference in performance between the 10GB/s type C vs the 5GB/s one?

For that price I would have expected a 4600H cpu, which has hyperthreading.

4600h is a 45w processor, while this device has 15w. Different leagues.

If I'm not mistaken, Ryzen 7 has upgraded iGPU over Ryzen 5. Also, does the Best Buy one come with the active stylus? I know the Costco one does.

I'd think 4700U would be better than 4600U!

Lon did a review on the 13" version, and said the ram was soldered to the board. Does this one also solder the ram?

Thing is there is no news on 4600U and 4800U laptop deals in the US right now though.

This Best Buy one doesn't come with an active stylus.

RAM is SODIMM, so it is totally replaceable.

it actually isn't because the 4600U has hyperthreading (6 cores/12 threads) while the 4700U (8 cores/8 threads) does not.

I bought this for $610 "satisfactory" which is honestly like new. Spent $60 for ram upgrade to 16gb. This computer is awesome I don't understand some of the hate here! I run my full music production suite no problem on this. It is in the heavier side. Fan isn't that loud, c'mon guys! Screen is fine for everything except direct sunlight on the porch. Fit and finish much better than Lenovo which I compared. There will always be something better in the pipeline but for the price especially the open box this is about as good as you can get!
