How about hiring this position directly so a third party isn't taking a cut for every hour worked? They'd make well over $20 an hour which seems more fair for a graveyard shift.
I agree.

Not for all the gold in Fort Knox would I go that low.

By the way, would the court-mandated ankle bracelet impact my candidacy if I change my mind about Serra?

I don't get all the complaints about the pay rate. $17/hr for what you'd be doing is pretty good pay. It's basically data entry and proofreading/revision.

They are basically offering offshore rates for onsite position ! US rates are generally in the range $50-$65 for data entry job profiles (W2)

Interesting. Now I'm wondering if I have a "Track record of posting deals members love." Confused
Seems unfair to only include those who've previously posted on the SD forums only. What if they've posted elsewhere online with great feedback/results?

Except that this job is really low on skill levels required as well as work load really. It's not like they are watching over your shoulder. You could work as hard or as little as you decide from the comfort of home. Most of the time, they just edit posts that members created in the first place, so most of the work had been done already too.

$17 per hour is shameful pay for the amount of money Slickdeals rakes in, especially given the terrible hours of this position. I'm honestly amazed they had the guts to post the paltry pay. I feel bad for whoever is desperate enough to have to accept a job like that. There's worse jobs, but thee's also much better jobs.

Terrible effort at sharing any of the wealth. I guess it's a microcosm of the U.S. as a whole.

I don't know where the heck you get your numbers from but I don't know anyone who does basic date entry and makes anywhere near that!

There are plenty of people who would like this at $17/hr. heck, I think I saw a sign at Target today about their open positions starting at $13/hr and for that you have to take a shower, get dressed, and drive to work and wear a mask all dang day! Staying home in your pjs banging on your keyboard a bit for $17/hr seems like a good deal for many people, especially if it's a side gig.

making sandwiches from 11pm to 5am for that much?
How much exactly do you think they make for the night shift at 24/7 fast food joints outside of big cities, or heck even in most of them? Most don't get anywhere near this and this job doesn't come with oil burns from the fryer!

It's slickdeals, what did you expect. They don't even have a CB portal.

I have never heard of data entry jobs making anywhere close to 50-65 dollars AN HOUR. Where is this mythical pay range at? Most are around $14-19 an hour (data entry jobs, that is) that I've seen, and this is EASY work, you don't have to drive anywhere, ability to go on trips and probably work in the hotel room...FREEDOM.

I like how people shame SD for posting a $17/hour position that does not require a lot of brain power, while others brag about making $50+ an hour. Go right ahead and deal with public transportation, car accidents, psychotic people in the workplace, you name it. This is good for college, and for those wanting a change in their current job fields and do something different.

No shame in that.

SD was bought for $500M 2 years ago. Still, not content with getting all their content written for free, they pay minimum wage for content editors. That is ugly and disgracefull. FUSD, I ain't your bitch!
