Amazon has the Crucial BX500 120GB SATA SSD for $20.99. To qualify for free shipping you need to spend a few dollars more. Over $25 gets free shipping. I added a Corsair Dual SSD mounting bracket for $4.99.

Update: Now the Standard Packaging version is available for the same price.

2nd update: Crucial.com has it for same price with free shipping.

Happy with the one I already have. Bought second for a spare. Good price.
Thanks OP.

Unfortunately it's on the bottom end of dad performance. This is a review of the 240gb version. The 120 is probably even slower.

Blows away the standard HDD it replaced is all I know. I'm not obsessed with the fastest thing on the market like everyone on here seems to be.

Are any of those others $21? If not then the comparison doesn't really count does it?

Yes.

I thinking of this to upgrade my OpenMediaVault.

On top of the price differential, do those other ones compare in reliability? Crucial and Samsung are among the most reliable brands for SSD and I'd rather have a slightly slower drive with better reliability than a faster drive that accelerates towards it's death... I've been using my Samsung 840 EVO 240gb since 2015 every single day. The computer stays on at least 12 hours a day and sleeps for the remainder. I usually have 100 chrome tabs open at all times (more ram intensive than hdd). I do light gaming, photo/video editting, and torrenting every now and then.

Sure. You're running this same model currently?

This has a z on the end of the model number mine doesn't have. The rest is the same. Don't know what the difference is.

Edit: The z is the frustration free packaging.

Good deal, but where are the 250-ish GB SSD deals on quality brands like this...

Thanks for posting this. I been looking for a drive like this for 20$ except from a good brand. If it works out the gates and isn't dead on arrival it's at least as good or better than a Kingston ssd.

Agreed. I've got two Kingston SSDs, a 120GB and a 240GB I've been running for over a year, no issues, but was surprised to see the price on those is not that low anymore, and feel I could do better for the money.

Just got this and got it installed and setup. Installed the crucial software and I'm running the momentum cache and I'm getting over 3gbps read and write speeds!! It uses memory for that. It's fast and snappy and a lot faster than other dram cacheless drives out there.
