Always preferred the Faber Castell 2mm, and it is cheaper. YMMV

Always hated these pencils because the erasers were like a one time use.

Make sure you get the sharpener and extra lead. I've had this or one very similar for the last 10 or so years, still kicking around, still use it.

I think you can use the earaser cap to sharpen the tip

Ill have to look at mine when I get home, but I'm not sure. The sharpener that's a suggested addon in the link works great though. These pencils are great when you need a nice pointy tip every time

What do you like about the Faber Castell? Where is it cheaper?

I've been using the menards $5 one for a while and it works pretty well, much nicer than construction pencils. I was going to buy another one but maybe I don't know what I'm missing with a fancier one.

While I haven't used them, looking at the two models on Amazon, they are not cheaper.

As an observation, they seem more geared toward writing and sketching than technical drafting. One has no pocket clip but is potentially long for shirt pocket use anyway.

The biggest pros I see for casual use are that the barrel tapers a bit where you hold it and the grip part is likely easier on you if you are using it for long.

With drafting pencils the knurling is often very sharp and while it's good for holding a very straight upright grip for maintaining line thickness, but can lead to fatigue and discomfort over longer runs when writing or drawing.

These erasers are on sale and are probably the best ones I've ever used:
