I'm a huge fan. I've had any number of Logitech, Razer, Corsair gaming keyboards and now I have the TKL version of this and the speed and responsiveness is just incredible. This has been my favorite keyboard to date. It takes a little getting used to because there isn't really anything to tell you that the key has been activated other than you pressing it. And it's very sensitive to touch. Sometimes I bump the wrong key and activate it. However, I'm here because I'm contemplating getting another with the full layout so I can use it for work from home because I just enjoy using it.

Well said

I too found that it took a little bit to get used to

Once that has been accomplished, I cant go back to my Razer green switches anymore, and my other black widows have been sold off. We now own a set of 4 Huntsmans (2 for work, for the mrs and I) and 2 more for play

Not buying this unfortunately for the sole reason you HAVE to install razer synapse and there's privacy concerns regarding that software.

You don't HAVE to install the software. You won't be able to control the lighting but it will work. The lights default to the spectrum pattern and the keys work like any other keyboard.

Can you provide a link to the privacy concerns? I'd like to read about those so I know if I need to block synapse with the firewall. No real need for it to be connected to the internet anyway.

Edit: so I went down the rabbit hole. Found a Reddit explaining the concerns and the concern is understandable. However I also stumbled upon the solution, synapse does not require an internet connection if used in guest mode. I tried it out and it works. Logged out of synapse, blocked it with my firewall and logged in as guest. I can still configure and use my keyboard as normal but it just won't sync my settings.

I have razer products and I feel like there's input lag because of their windows app that runs in the background. Anyone notice the same thing?

How does this compare to the Razer Black Widow Elite and the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition?

I've had this keyboard for 6 months. The pink version, it's cute as hell bro. It feels great to use, and the lights are bright and vivid.

However, I wish I had gotten a different keyboard, because you can't use custom key-caps because Razer uses their own non-standard bottom row of keys. They're shaped/sized a little different so the bottom row of almost all key-caps wont fit.
The only Razer keyboard that does is the Huntsman Tournament Edition, which is also a bit nicer of a keyboard. I'd rather have that one, or another brand like Ducky.

Two things that might bother some:
When you type, the body makes a soft metallic sound with every keystroke.
The keys are also loud, it sounds like an typewriter. I like my keyboards super clacky, but many don't.

I don't notice any reduced performance at all. In most tests razer products are some of the highest performing, especially their wireless mice. You can just turn off their app if you want.

Thanks for the info. When you say the lights default to the spectrum pattern does that mean I get a handful of options without having to use the software? Or you need to install the software to even get the keyboard to light up?

Basically, I am only interested in an option to cycle through all the colors and have the rainbow wave. Don't care about any other customization by sections or anything else.
