Again, we don't have time machine and can't go back to Black Friday. What's a better Deal that's available today?

Where do you live? I'll sell you my 2 year old RXV-383 for $150.
well i guess if you can't wait. I'll gladly wait for a better deal and i would not want to buy a used one at all.

Seems like very few receiver deals right now, must be because of the shortages. These are not fantastic deals, but there's not much else avail right now unless you're looking on used market. Even costco doesn't really have anything, they have a Denon AVR-S750H but for $430. Wish they continued to carry the trusty 7850, at least you could get a decent deal on a decent receiver w/o breaking the bank and with that great Costco warranty. Remb the good ol' days with AVR deals from Frys?
Anyone have any thoughts on if the Denon AVR-S750H at Costco for $430 is worth the extra $100 over this OP Yamaha RX-V485BL ?

Slim pickings these days but I am also home more and can use the AVR a lot more now so would like to get something now. May not be an SD-worthy opinion Smilie

I need 5.1 and good room correction features.

$50 less at accessories4less for factory refub compared to brand new through Costco - definitely worth checking out - thanks!

I have never bought from accessories4less but seeing a lot of good comments about them on SD.

If I am going to go with accessories4less anyway, is this denon the best I can do at the $400 price point?

I see Yamaha RX-V585 for $389 and am comparing them:

I recently moved and new house has a total of 12 wired speakers throughout 4 rooms that all lead into a single utility closet. Is this unit enough to run everything or will I require more than one? Also I own a few Sonos speakers (wireless)... is there a way to connect these into the same system?

Deal Parade has it for $329. I was on the fence a few weeks ago when they were $279, went to buy it an hour later and they had upped it to $329. Got it anyway since I couldn't find anything local with similar specs, I needed as many 4k hdmi inputs as I could get. A4L and other deals have dried up in light of current events so who knows when we'll see decent deals again.

To anyone considering this, if you can't wait, at $330 I would definitely get the refurb 7.2 7850 over the 5.1 V485. HDMI - 5 in / 2 out vs. 4 in / 1 out. LR and 2 sub pre-outs with zone 2 out vs just 1 sub out on the 485.
How much was it for you after tax?

I bought my 7850R at Walmart and tax was 20$. I also got the 4 year protection plan which the total cost comes out to 395$.

Besides 4k, everything else would be a downgrade. Whether that works for you not is your call but just comparing the specs:

You'd be going from 7.2 to 5.1, pre-outs for all channels to single pre-out for subwoofer, 95w to 80w, component inputs to no component inputs, 2 sub outputs to 1 sub output.

So yeah, quite a few differences but it all depends on whether your setup actually makes use of those features or not. I had to upgrade mine from HTR 5790 to this one when I got a 4k projector and lost pretty much same features I mentioned above but it didn't quite impact me. I sold off my HTR 5790 for $150, sold my 7-disc DVD player for $60 that had component output, sold of my WDTV Live Player to get rid of all of the legacy connections to my receiver. Only kept Xbox 360 for DVD player (which I hardly use anymore) as it has HDMI output and got the FireStick 4K as the media streamer/player. I only have 5.1 setup so losing the 7.1 capability didn't really bother me. Pre-outs would be nice but I don't have an amp and don't plan on having it for the near future (not at least until I upgrade my receiver again).

If you search the address for the Corporate Offices of Maxxken Stores, it takes you to a dumpy little apartment in Pelham, Georgia.
If it's looks too good to be true, it's a scam.
