Given that buying any kind of exercise equipment is like trading the commodities market in modern times this is a decent price.

But Weider is basically a rebranded Gold's Gym and that was around $160 normally.

They'll be people trying to sell these on Craigslist for 500 bucks. I went to check for some olympic plates a few days ago and some guy wanted 400 for 2 25lb plates and 2 45lb plates.

Does anyone know how this compares to the body champ set at academy? I've got that in my garage now and it's fine aside from the fact that doesn't get tall enough for squats/military. My solution was to build a 'stand' for it out of 2x4s and spare lumber but then it was too tall for bench! I ended up having to lift the bench as well.

So if this one has a wider range of adjustments for the actual rack part (not the safety catches) I might be in for one as it looks otherwise beefier.

Have this bench/set but branded Gold's Gym. One negative review I wish I'd paid attention to before I bought it is that the bench is uncommonly high. I'm 5' 11 and even with shoes on my feet aren't flat on the floor with the bench flat. At this price it may be a fair trade off for people who feel they will never outgrow this set. If you are looking for a starter set where you might keep the bench and upgrade the rack down the road, you may want to keep looking.

Interesting... I'm trying to see if other people complained of it but apparently you can't search Walmart reviews...ridiculous

You could try putting plates or blocks under your feet. That is annoying though not being able to drive with your legs

I bought this a long time ago. It's decent for what it is and the low price, but I eventually sold it and bought a real squat rack/power cage.
