The 16-35 f/4 is also sharper and has vibration reduction... Its great; I own it. That said, the Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 G2 is also sharper than the Nikon 14-24mm. You lose 1mm, but gain the ability to use rear filters as well as clunky 150mm front variants... as well as 4.5 stops of vibration reduction!

Of course the cheaper Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D is sharper in the center and 2mm wider, which is much more noticeable than the 14 to 15mm.

And... even cheaper and sharper than all of those is the Rokinon 14mm f/2.4, but you have to get lucky with the copy.

Basically... I don't know why folks get excited for this lens anymore. It has been surpassed by a variety of 3rd parties and for cheaper.
