This inaccurate statement is going around. While this Anker dongle only does 4k30, you don't need Thunderbolt 3 to do 4k60. The Hyperdrive gen2 does 4k60 over USB-C.

I have this adapter, it's great overall, but there are some cons I'd like to point out:
1. PD power delivery is 85w max to laptop, not 100w pass through on title. the hub itself reserve 15w power all the time. If you have a 60w charger, it will only provide 45w to your laptop.
2. USB-C is data only, it can't even accept USB-C - Displayport cable to output display signal.
3. USB-A only provide 500mA x 5v output on iPhone, charging is really slow.
4. HDMI is 4k30p only.
5. Can't use both SD and microSD at the same time
To be clear this is not a charger. In order to use the PD you need a separate charger to plug into it
4k60 requires pretty much all lanes to be used for display

Because you can't have everything all at once. Bandwidth is a thing, this isn't a passive adapter.

If this had a 3.5mm audio plug I'd be all over it...

Great device been using one at work for about 6 months as a cheaper alternative to a full dock (don't need all the extra ports)

Wish it had more USB ports. I have a USB C to 4 port hub hooked up to it and hidden in a cable management box. It daisy chaining is fine, even passively as long as you're not running any high power devices on it.

Thanks for this. I'm new to this sort of stuff, can you link me to a charger plug that would work for this?
