Definitely interested in this, I've been looking for a quality cutaway guitar in this price point and the reviews online sound pretty nice overall. Does anyone have this guitar, or another D'Angelico one? Looking for some feedback before I pull the trigger.

Picked up a D'Angelica semi-hollow body back in Feb on an SD. Beautiful guitar. Feels great. One of my favorites.

Yep, China. But if the manufacturer specifies quality parts and materials you can still get some good (and this for $250 is good) guitars out of China...not the low end Jackson's however. My nephew got burned on one...literally everything but the body had had issues.

Re China, I can't comment on the quality of this specific guitar or D'Angelico guitars in general, but China has been making some quality guitars for many years now. For example, I have several handmade Eastman guitars that are fantastic. I have a few other Chinese made guitars, both handmade and factory built, that are great as well. I'm not suggesting this guitar is handmade; it's not, however it may be a good quality solid top acoustic. It's certainly affordably priced for a solid top acoustic-electric.

I've been interested in some of the posted D'Angelico deals over the last couple years, but have never pulled the trigger. Am I the only one that has a hard time with the headstock aesthetics? It reminds me of a stylized stag beetle, especially with those wavy keyed Grover Imperial stair step knockoffs.

Anyone have experience returning guitars to MF?

Their policy states "Refunds are made for product value only, excluding shipping and handling charges. If you received Free Shipping on your order, the value of the uncharged shipping cost will be deducted from your refund."

I'm guessing the customer has to return ship on their own dime. Does anyone know how much they typically deduct for the original shipping? Does the requirement to pay for the return shipping and the original shipping deduction still apply if there is an issue with the guitar, e.g. faulty electronics or excessively high frets that make the prospect of a successful setup dubious?

I'll just chime in that every D'Angelico guitar I've played has felt/sounded/played what I felt was better than what the price would indicate...and that's at their normal prices.

It depends on the reason for the return.

I recently had a defective guitar from MF and they gave me free return label and refunded full purchase price.

On the other hand, if you just changed your mind about the purchase they will deduct shipping cost from the refund.

I realize the deal is dead but, how would this compare with a Breedlove concert with a cutaway body?
