I picked up a mister FPGA board (DE10 Nano) and was looking for a Sega to usb controller. Retrobit has two types of Sega usb controllers. The 8 button model has two L+R shoulder buttons. The 6 button controller has one button called a Mode button which allows you to switch between 6 button mode and 3 button modes.

One thing I was researching about these controllers is the input delay/latency.

Retrobit offers a sega saturn controller.

https://www.amazon.com/Retro-Bit-...uage=en_US

The sega saturn controller has roughly 1.0 ms latency.

https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...edit#gid=0

Looking at the chart below, it is SEGA Saturn® 8-Button Arcade Pad with USB® (Model 2)

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6df02q8...0.pdf?dl=0

There is no information about how much latency is from the SEGA Genesis 6-Button, but I would probably assume its the same as the sega saturn and Retrobit is a decent brand.

Another thing I kept thinking was, is it worth getting the 8 button rather than the 6 button? The original Sega controller never had shoulder buttons, so games won't utilize it.

Hope that helps for people who are deciding which model to get.

I was going to score the 6 button controller, but I held off until it went down to this price. Thanks OP I am going to pick it up today and test it out.
Great deal! These controllers are well made, and are nearly identical to the originals. Love em

Thanks for taking the time to compile this info! I recently picked up a MiSTer FPGA too and was wondering the same thing.

Awesome, thanks. Was able to PM to local Target that's closer so I didn't need to pay shipping. This is a much fairer price and will go nicely with my Genesis Mini.

I think these are 3rd party official license and the Japanese are official Sega. "I think"

I have the classic 7 pin version of this controller. It's a near-perfect reproduction.of the original. If you have a Genesis mini or just like to play retro sega games on PC you owe it to yourself to buy this

(on the genesis mini) Be warned that the mode button is easily clicked if your fingers are used to being in the position for hitting L or R. I recommend the version with L+R over this but if you can train yourself to put fingers on the "backside" it's a great controller. Not a problem if you can unbind it to the menu button....
