The Aeropress is nothing like this device. They both make brown liquid, but that's where the similarity ends. The Aeropress makes excellent coffee, as judged by many experts (and also by avg. people like me). It's been around for 10-15 years but it just hasn't caught on with mainstream folks who are content to use a Keurig and consider it coffee.

It's strange that Aeropress would have a Fakespot rating of C when they're far more straightlaced than most Amazon merchants. They just don't do the tricks the underhanded tricks that would lead to fake reviews. To me, this shows just how irrelevant Fakespot has become.

But don't take my word for it, pick one up for yourself. It looks a bit strange at first, but it can produce some amazing coffee (even with grocery store coffee) and it doesn't require expensive pods or fancy equipment.
Yeah, I can definitely vouch for Aeropress. Have been using it at work and while on vacations and it makes great coffee.

Process of making coffee is a bit convoluted so I think it appeals to folks who like good coffee and are willing to put a bit of extra effort. Same goes for french press, etc. Other people just want an easy cup hence Keurig and other single cup machines like it.

It seems however that the concept is pretty much the same with this one as is with Aeropress... just a different packaging. I'd definitely choose Aeropress over this.

This is a very common clone version of a portable expresso maker. Look around amazon and you'll see several brands with the exact same design for much less. I own two of these. IMO, they are probably worth $19, no more. I bought the 1st one with a tayama brand and the hand pump failed after 2 months. I then ordered a cheap clone for less than $15. While all the plastic parts look and feel cheaper, the hand pump is identical. So now I have a working machine with a extra glass cup and water tank. However, the coffee is 7/10 at best. Very few creama but it's not a $200 machine so what do you expect?

The biggest drawback for me is the single shot capacity just don't produce enough coffee for my drinking need. Washing the thing out between shots gets old quick.

Aeropress reached out to me a few years ago for a nice discount in exchange for a "nice" amazon review. Fakespot is mostly accurate from my experience.
A lot of reputable sellers have approached me with gift card offers over the cost of purchase for favorable reviews, or have offered refunds for pulling negative reviews. I do neither because I use fakespot and detest dishonest reviews.

C is rock bottom, D and F are not trustworthy. I have also seen new products pull an A on fakespot only to nosedive into an F after a month once the algorithm has caught up.

More than this, read the reviews and gauge for yourselves it "This rules" is a sound enough review for you. Your own sense is your best tool to guard against buying shabby merchandise.

That's unfortunate. I hadn't heard of any other reports of fishy stuff like that. I though they were above that sort of thing.

On a seperate, totally unrelated note, where's all my free swag Aeropress?

Same one was at new egg. Different brand but only 12 bucks on shell shocker. Great device.

See what you discover is that one company makes it and then puts different names with different prices.

I have a different version of this same device. Definitely not worth the $33 asking price. I pay $20 though. I generally want two shots of espresso from the device so you have to fill it with coffee fill it with hot water pump the shot out dump the grounds rinse the ground cup fill it with coffee fill it with hot water pump the shot up by the time you have your two shots the temperature has definitely dropped in your cup of espresso and you are left with a decent but not great cup of strong coffee

I do enjoy it as a fun coffee gadget and the coffee is decent enough but $33 when there are other versions of the same thing for 20 or less... No thanks.

I also agree with everyone who has mentioned the aeropress as a good cup of coffee. Not espresso but definitely can be a nice strong cup of coffee and it always is extremely hot, which like I mentioned above these handheld devices have a hard time keeping that same temperature. Which for me is a bit of a deal breaker.

Fakespot gives the reviews a grade of "C". There is a similar product sold on Amazon called Aeropress with over 7000 reviews with Fakespot grade of "C" and it costs less. Read reviews carefully. If a review seems overly glowing, click on the reviewer's username and look at their user history
People really like aeropress. It has community support if you will
