I don't know why at these price points, one would not opt for LED over Laser. All specs seem equal, except laser costs more and does not last as long.

Right now I'm looking at the
https://www.lg.com/us/home-video/...-projector (LED)
and the
https://www.lg.com/us/home-video/...-projector (LASER)

Specs (LG):

LED laser
lifetime 30k.hrs 20k.hrs
contrast 150k 150k
brightness 1500L 1500L
price $1200 $1600

Plus, buydig has a shadyish reputation and I would not trust their "open box scuffed" nonsense, if I can buy LED direct from LG for the same price.

Never had a problem with anything that I've purchased from Buydig, including 4 refurbished items.

Be careful with these UST projectors; unless your screen is perfectly flat it will really highlight the imperfections in it.

What do you mean by this? And how is it different than regular projectors? I'm not in the market for UST projectir now but was thinking that ultimately will be landing on that once the prices come down a bit.

It's up close so it's projecting at a very vertical angle, so any slight bumps or curvatures in your screen will cast shadows.

Ordered one. Was about to order an 86 tv for bedroom. This is far less expensive and may suit the bill better since it will be only used occasionally.

I'm pretty sure the Buydig website is inaccurate in its description of the HF65LA. The LG website says it is LED-illuminated, not laser.
