Can this do clean hdmi out?

Update - looks like this does do HDMI out - which will be good for way higher quality video calls

Still expensive for a toy camera. I got one of those deal for the Sony A6000 kit for $95 and I still think it's expensive 😆

Olympus is getting out of its 84-year-old camera business. Don't expect any further firmware, lens, and other kinds of stuff. That's the reason for the huge discount.
While it's true that they sold their division to another company, this deal isn't necessarily reflective of that. It's been at this price a few times over the last couple months. I got it with the "R" version kit lens for $299 at the start of May. It's an older model but as a first camera it's been great for me. The size has lent itself to using it more often, as it's a lot easier to tow around than a bigger camera would be. As well, i've found lots of good deals on refurb, lightly used, and sometimes even new lenses.

Disagree 100 percent. I laugh at people when I see them holding a phone or ipad to take pictures at a graduation. This thing will take 1000 times better pics than any iphone. There are still great lenses. For 99 percent of people this camera will kick ass for years
And holding the iDevices vertical.

Is Panasonic still around for their m43? While I know Oly is getting out, I'm sure a Chinese company will come around and pick it up to keep the format going. THAT said, I got out of m43 since GH2 days. I went Sony and never looked back on low-light, size, speed, etc. Took Sony a while to get their lenses going, but I've upgraded several bodies and still have my trusty old a7mk2. RIP m43.
Similar situation for me. The Panasonic GX8 is still one of my favorite camera bodies. I needed more more low light and action/sports and jumped into larger sensors accordingly.

After a few years with Nikon, I eventually ended up with Sony a7riii and have been pretty happy with the results.

$350 for a good budget / start up camera even if MFT cannot be beat, idk why everyone is shitting on this deal.

No one is comparing quality to full frame, but price point this camera will be fine for years..

Show me a better starter camera for this price point...

Product launches already planned for 2020 and those announced as under development will still go to the market as planned, she said. Even after the deal goes through, there are no immediate plans to shed the Olympus brand name from cameras
Not dead yet!

That said, where are my mark-iii deals at?

M4/3 is cool because of the size. I did like my Panasonic G85 quite a bit, but the focusing wasn't as good as my fuji xt-30, not even close. Also, with fujifilm's design, they're nearly the same size but with the APS-C sensor. I do miss the flippy screen and the IBIS a lot. I'm hoping that x-t40 will come out with IBIS.

Focus with Panny's flagships m4/3, the GH5 and GH9 is blazing fast along with 12fps and 60fps with focus locked on first snap. Next time anyone visits a real camera shop, take a look at the GH5 and G9 and be prepared to be impressed. Thinking about selling my Nikon dslr gear and moving to the GH5 which would work well for my needs.

I'm also really interested in this brand new Panasonic G100. m4/3 still going strong.

I'm not a vlogger, but olympus video has always let me down. Now that panasonic is fully embracing IBIS, I might be willing to try one rather than a OM-D body. I love the way olympus renders color, but I assume I'd be able to get shots out of panny that I am equally happy with.
