Ring Video Doorbell 2 $79.99

2nd Gen Ring Video Doorbell. This is not only a video doorbell but it records motion as well.

You don't have to hardwire this video doorbell which is perfect for renters. If you want to go back and see motion and video, you can subscribe to their cloud service for only $30 a year.

I've had both the 1st gen and 2nd gen doorbells and loved them, but I like that the 2nd gen has a removable battery which lasts for quite a while, but dependent on your motion settings.

We just bought the Stick Up Cam Battery last weekend. Does anyone have experience with that compared to this doorbell? Is the field of view similar? TIA.

its about the same with the same crappy motion zone options. FOV might be better on stickup, but neglegible difference. i actually returned a stick up plug in, because it was lame. i regret getting the video doorbell 2, should have got the pro for the better motion zone options. but i didnt know any better at the time.

love the floodlights and spotlight cams i have though, will probably get a better doorbell a few years down the road.

I second that, but got the Video doorbell 3. Should of got the pro! I do love the spotlight cameras on the front and back of house. I also have Arlo to send me notifications, because ring is always recording and would be too much! They work good together in my opinion.

It's not the Ring 2, its the Ring 2nd Gen

Q:Is there a difference between the ring 2 and this ring(2nd gen) doorbell as the ring 2 had many problems?

A: Yes. The product names are VERY CONFUSING so pay careful attention. This is the second gen of the RING DOORBELL, the standard, "entry-level" version of the product. It has a built-in battery, which means, in order to recharge the doorbell, you have to take the entire doorbell off.

The RING 2 is the upgraded product, which has a "quick switch" battery. I have 2 batts, keep one charged so I can swap them as needed.

This can be hard wired though right? No need to worry about replacing the battery?
