The Camillus Pristine Folding Knife has a 3" VG-10 steel blade with a G10 stainless steel handle. VG-10 has a unique formulation of steel with a high carbon content. It contains various amounts of one or more of the following: Chromium, Vanadium and Cobalt. VG-10 is considered a "super steel," because it is designed to maintain sharpness and durability. ~ persian_mafia

Never owned one personally, but they seem to be good according to some folks on the internet https://www.bladeforums.com/threa...d.1285774/

My understanding is Camillus has only so-so quality control and not the most refined fit and finish. I've never owned one, but I've handled a few of their more budget knives at Wally World and didn't find them very refined at all.

VG-10 steel is considered a high-end, not quite premium, stainless steel, but Camillus only hardens this particular knife to 57HRC. VG-10 should be hardened to at least 59 or 60, IMHO. Doing a crappy heat treat defeats the purpose of using higher end steel.

But, if you like the design and looks of the knife (it's not my particular cup of tea) then I would be all over it at this price.

It's just over $50 on Amazon with good ratings, plus, I like the look, so I'm in for one. Late Father's Day present is my excuse. LOL!

Thanks, OP!
