Always wanted one of these but even at $200.... that's still a hard pill to swallow.

I've owned the first generation Charge the day it came out. The Micro USB input to recharge finally wore out. I ordered the Xtreme1 and used it for a couple days, returned it. I have not idea if Gen 2 Xtreme has an issue, but this Gen 1 cannot handle bass from classical music at 40% volume. It distorts horribly. And it's not that much better sounding than my first gen Charge. If you have a Best Buy, try testing them out.

For Verizon customers, got the code by following these steps:

1. Log in to My Verizon app (in App store)
2. Click Verizon Up
3. Scroll down to "Bonus Rewards"
4. Scroll through "Bonus Rewards" and hopefully one of the rewards should be the JBL Xtrreme2 $150 off coupon, select it and you can order it from within the app.

Is this worth the $200? Still pricey, and I'm not sure that it's $100-150 better than a comparable Bluetooth speaker.

The problem isn't the speaker, it's the classical music.

I was in until I realized you needed proprietary AC adapter to charge instead of USB C. Oof.
