Anybody know if it comes with the box ?
When I ordered the Classic NES refurb from NIntendo last year, it just came in a brown box, not the original fancy box.

In for a SuperNES. I played the classic like twice and its just sat ever since. In for another to just sit lol.

tu and rep

edit: I also got the error on the 'success' page about invoice to Vertex. I got a confirmation email and an order number though.. we'll see

I have an rpi3, it runs up to 16 bit games great but n64 ones are super laggy and unplayable
FYI an rpi3 should play ps1 games well.

Doesn't Nintendo Online on the Switch have all these games and a controller that lets you sit more than 3ft from the TV?

I got a playstation classic for $10 and I really hate the menus and the pads. Also, the crt shader does not scale well at all and it was the biggest deal breaker for me.
I guess these mini consoles aren't for me. I'm mainly a pi4 user and it does everything I want, though it's meant for tinkerers.
The PS classic actually emulates better than the pi4. And I would say it is probably easier to mod than it is to install games on a pi4.

I just modded my Wii and can play hundreds of ROMs on it. Is there a Nintendo styled controller that works with the Wii?
The classic controllers actually work on the wii.

OMG these remind me of my childhood. Nostaglia coming on...

Time to watch Stranger Things and get that old time vibe. Ha.

I loved Kid Icarus on the NES. I wish they had Street Fighter 2 and NHL 93 or NHL 94 (can't remember) on the SNES. So fun.

The transaction still won't go through with my Visa or Mastercard. I had tried to buy these back in January as well before it disappear from their website.

This is most likely overstock which is being sold in bulk packaging. On the other hand, it's much more worthwhile to just:
  • Buy a pi3 with a 32GB microSD card
  • Flash an image on microSD card
  • Buy 2x 8Bitdo SF-30 bluetooth controllers
Doesn't require any programming knowledge for the most part, and you don't need to tinker a million things to get the games you want running on it.

silly question, but being the classic only comes with 1 controller can you still play two player games? I know the original NES didn't have games where both players played at the same time, so can you just pass the controller to the other person when you die, or do you actually need a 2nd controller to play 2 player games?

Also anyone know the length of the controller cable & power cable? If the TV is 12 feet from the couch I'm wondering how well this would work

I bought the snes. Came to $80 with tax, but was able to use my 3% bank of america card for cashback assuming nintendo is a qualified online purchase. Could have done discover 5% cashback, but paypal not accepted by nintendo. This will be my second mini system. Got the neogeo for $30 and was impressed by it. Mine currently has 107 games. I will be doing the snes mod to add the full rom set on usb and adding NES games.

Order for NES classic went through, order will not go through when trying to get an SNES classic (multiple nintendo errors (for example 9001-2420 or 9001-2492) or a card decline error). At least I got a NES classic to go along with my SNES classic, Sega mini, and 3 PS1 classics Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Bought these last time and they come in an unsealed cardboard box with a sticker that says refurbished. It's bigger than the original box and the original box isn't inside. Everything is bagged and loosely packed in the box unlike the original box where everything is tightly packed. Each part is in a bag or in a bubble wrap bag. Everything in the box looked new.

They looked like "white box" systems to me. Often manufacturers make extra systems to send out when ones come back that aren't worth fixing. It's not worth refurbishing anything these days (especially at this price point). Often "refurbished replacement systems are new "white box" systems. I think last time Nintendo sold off some of their white box stock because they knew a lot of the systems out there were out of warranty.

I think Nintendo is pretty secure they don't need many replacement systems and are again selling off more of their white box stock. The ones I got looked perfect, but sometimes a company will use their "seconds" or not quite cosmetically perfect systems as white box systems.
