OFFER TERMS
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer only valid for purchases paid at the pump at U.S. Chevron and Texaco locations. Excludes all other transactions such as, but not limited to, convenience store purchases, car wash purchases, automotive repair services, online transactions, gift card purchases, wholesale purchases, airline or marine fuel purchases. Excludes all international locations and brands, such as Caltex. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of $25 in total statement credits per Card Member. The enrolled Card account must not be cancelled or past due to receive statement credits. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 11/1/2020, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. POID: K0XA:0001

This is a good deal if you do fuel points with Safeway/Albertsons. Up to a buck off per gallon plus the AMEX deal is a nice haul.

Maybe I have had bad luck, but my MX-5 craps the bed with Costco's premium fuel. They mix ethanol in on-site which is not common - most do it when the truck gets filled. My car complained a couple times a year that the fuel/air mix is too lean. Going to an ethanol-free station fixes the problem within 20 miles of driving. Have been going to Shell or Chevron since, and no issues after that.

Brought the issue up to Costco, and they don't care.

Nowadays with covid Costco is a no brainier with no lines. Back in my days (3 months ago), Costco lines weren't worth the discount due to the 15 minute waits.
I used to think that, too. Then I figured I can save $7-$10 per fill-up. I can wait 10 min.

Not for me. Don't have the patience nor do I want the car idling or do the on and off drill while waiting. There is a Chevron a mile from my house so I usually go at night. 12 minutes and done. The way I like it.

On my Blue Cash Everyday AMEX.

If you don't see it, free up some offers by adding more offers to your card.

I always have 100 offers waiting, and they replenish to 100 after I add some to my card.

Thanks OP!
Weird. Not showing on my BCE. Oh, well.

Not showing up on my Gold Corporate card account. It is showing ConocoPhillips but no Chevron (which is typically what I use because my old Cadillacs eat Premium).

Was thinking of doing this. I'm probably close to the $1 off per gallon right now.

Texaco left NY years ago. Seen them out west.
True, plenty of Texacos in Texas (duuh), New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and a few even in Cali. As for Chevron, galore in those state, like Walmarts.

Also not the cheapest, specially Chevron.

Will it beat the Costco price with the discount?
Costco beating Chevron even with the discount in my area. However:

1. This can be a convenience thing when Costco lines are long
2. Good when traveling
3. Offer is until 11/1 - if the prices the go up, the 15% of a higher price is more off while the differential in prices tends to be a fixed amount in cents. Then #1 is really useful.

I'm sorry. Is my math off? 3 x 18 = $54. 15% of $54 is $8.10 right? Confused

Chevron here in bay area is around $3.59 Premium - 15% is $3.05. I just pumped $3.09 at Costco for Premium so similar price.
You also get 4% cash-back with the Citi Costco Visa, so Costco is still cheaper.

Unless you are going in that area or passing by, there has to be more to life than, "I have to fill up gas, I have to fill up gas, .... and get up early to go do it".

We don't live in the Bay area - lines are not so bad. In Bay area, I would definitely skip Costco and take the 15% off even if I had to pay a bit more.

I think when you go to Safeway and get Safeway gas at the pump u can get up to $1/gallon up to 25 gallons ($25). However, I thought when you go to Chevron, you're limited to use up to 20 cents/gallon off (up to 25 gallons??)
