Others have pointed out in other posts that ones sold by Amazon don't guarantee that they're not counterfeit due to third party inventory getting mixed in with Amazon's. I do understand feeling safer ordering from them over a third party seller, though, and I would do the same. Just wanted to point out to still look out for counterfeits.
This seems like a good price for these batteries. From what I've read you wanna get Japanese made or nothing. Eneloops and Fujitsu's are typically Japanese. From what I've heard the only other option that I would really consider that might be in this price range are IKEA's ladda batteries
Many of the counterfeits have misspellings/typos on the product packaging. All of the counterfeits are lacking the embossed date code on the actual battery. Type "fake eneloops" into your favorite search engine to find out more info.

For me the buying option defaulted to a third party seller for $12.99, switching back to the $14.30 one sold by Amazon.

Their reviews were sketchy. I would stick with Amazon.

Just wondering if the quality differ? Maybe the return process is easier?

Edited. Nevermind, saw the next post.

I do understand feeling safer ordering from them over a third party seller, though, and I would do the same. Just wanted to point out to still look out for counterfeits.

What should I look for? How can I spot counterfeits?

Laddas I heard are also japanese. Emphasize on word heard as i never had laddas but heard great things about them.

I'm not sure, sorry. I know people warn about them in other posts, but I haven't read or remember reading what to look out for. Maybe someone else can chime in, but I'd check previous posts or Google it.
