As an experienced ice cream scooper from Rite Aid, these are the best for scooping ice cream from gallon tubs. But should also get the scraper. When using them you gotta make sure you dump em in water first or the ice creams gonna be difficult to press out.

I remember riding my bike to Thrifty's and getting scoop for 35 cents. Eventually they came out with a triple scoop on a waffle cone for 99 cents. It blew my freakin' mind!!!!

I don't remember having 2 prong holes in my thrifty ice cream cones. Are these knock offs?
The two holes have been there as long as I can remember, at least the last 30+ years. I got one of these a few months ago. They are great when you want a cone. For a dish I just use a regular scoop

The Ice Cream "Gun" Scooper!! Yes!! (but not for $30)
I do remember having "holes" in ice cream scoops from "thrifty" so I think the 2 prong holes have been there as well.

There's a reason why getting Ice Cream at Thirfty/Rite Aid is generally quicker and more consistent than ice cream shops like Baskin Robbins.... it's the "gun" scooper.

first two minutes shows the use.
Looks like it barely works lol. Probably user error.

When I worked at Friendly's when I was 16 we just had those basic aluminum scoops with liquid inside them and they sat in running water. Worked just fine.

How bout making the stores just like the long lost profitable thrifty-payless stores, and bring back the ice cream and all the great products they sold for a fair price. Make shopping great again!

Of course it's not necessary. It's all about the nostalgia Smilie

Before RiteAid started selling them you were lucky to find a used one for less than $100
Nostalgia? They still use this at rite aid

Not interested myself, but wow I've never seen anything like this before so it was really cool to take a little dive down the rabbit hole reading about this. Thanks for sharing!

This is hands down the best ice cream scoop I've ever owned. If it ever shows up on sale again and you happen to be in need of a new scoop, these are worth it. Originally got the 2 pack for $12.95 and was able to gift the second to a sister-in-law. Heavy duty and perfect ice cream scoops with no sticking or mechanism that break. A design so obviously simple, yet genius.
