I bought this about a year ago for $750 and that was a great deal at the time. Very pleased with this TV and considering buying another for this price.

I would go for it. Make sure it comes with Samsung warranty or buy square trade for it.
Thanks. Will check its warranty.. It is satisfactory and mostly will be in the basement for my kid's game on Nintendo and not used as my main TV

Isn't QLED just a branding exercise for standard LED because they're late to the game on OLED? From a technology perspective, there's no step change from LED to QLED, right?

This is tempting. I have a 52" Sony that's only HD and weighs a ton. Problem is I don't watch much TV really. Kids would love it I'm sure.

The first review on bestbuy was someone saying how much better this TV is than the TCL 6 series.

It's amazing how a brand name changes perception. Not that this isn't a horrible TV, and anyone upgrading from a sub-2018 TV is going to be happy, but personally I like watching movies in a dark room and without local dimming dark scenes look horrid.
Does this TV also have the issue with dark scenes? I got the 7000 version and want to return because of it

Thank you. Replacing a 42" LG so this should be a nice upgrade.

I bought this same model from Costco (actually UN65RU800D, just to prevent price matching) with the 3 year warranty and I'm very happy with it. It has all the features I need and the picture is fantastic to my colorblind eyes.

Can you explain the square trade warranty a bit more?

I've saw some open box Samsung TVs through Best Buy as well and I'd like to get one, but am afraid if I encounter an issue within a few months that Square Trade wouldn't honor the warranty. Wasn't sure how well it worked or if people had issues with square trade on open box TVs. Thanks in advance.

I will pick Hisense if same size for same price
People are going to give you a thumbs down which is why you can't really trust opinions on this site. The Hisense H8G is the better tv

120 native refresh rate, this is a great deal.
Bought one. This is great price for a really good TV.
Some people wonder between this and Hisense, are you kidding? I own both and I will continue buying Samsung

I had ordered QN65Q70RAFXZA last week (awaiting delivery) for $950, Should i consider this UN65RU8000 for $600. Is $350 worth spending for the QLED ? We use the TV only few hours a day for regular cable programs/Youtube, etc.

The main difference I see is QLED (for 100% color volume) and full array back light

I want to get this but I fear 65" might be too big. I want a 55" really. I have a 49" curved 6 series Samsung currently. Time to upgrade as my tv is 5 years old at least.

If you have the space, go bigger. Measure the space and if 65 fits, I wouldn't go 55, personally. 65 is the sweet spot for price/performance/size at the moment unless you find a crazy good deal on a 55.
