There must have been warehouses full of 570's . These are worth $100-120 tops. Mid/low-settings 1080p cards. Perfectly fine for workstation use etc, but if you're a gamer... aim higher.

Any thoughts on whether or not this would be worth getting to replace a Nvidia 1050 GTX Ti? I'm really out of the loop as far as computer hardware goes these days. It's been about 4 years since I built my current PC.
Nah don't do it. The 1050ti is still an OK 1080p medium/low performer. And if you need LP (low profile) sadly one of the few you can get right this second.

I have Intel Core i5 8400 CPU 2.80GHz. should I buy this card, I just need more port to plug in more monitors, does it make my computer faster, or should I just buy some cheap card on Ebay?
Thanks!

(All things equal) Go with the 5500 (if you can get it under $160)

It has better architecture and a smaller dye (more power efficient). and development community is moving to newer architecture.

Google RDNA (5000 series) vs DCA (500 series), lots of articles on the difference

He is an example article
https://www.hardwaretimes.com/nav...itectures/

Caveat: Initially said "all things being equal". If you have an old Mobo /CPU and (I.e. Old DDR 3 ram, Intel core Gen 4 or older, or AMD pre Ryzen CPUs say athlons or phenom)

Enjoy gaming and learn ML (machine learning). It's not all just about benchmarks.
yes, i do have intel 4th gen and 16GB DDR3 RAM, i was gonna get this but upon reading review, it seems RX570/580 is power hungry and I am afraid my PSU does not have enough power CX440 Corsair and I don't want to upgrade my PSU

in any case, i will wait for 5500 XT, the purpose of getting a new video card is to play GTA V Smilie

do you or anyone know the equivalent NVIDIA card for RX 5500 ? Thanks.

I was just looking locally, and the prices match what you wrote, with the occasional oddball hoping to recoup nearly what he paid for the card when new. I may look at the 5500XT/4GB because for my needs with this computer, the extra 4GB isn't necessary even when considering "future proofing". Decisions...
Definitely need you get the 8gb version. I have heard the 4gb version has more issues present and can't hold speeds as well as the 8gb. I was thinking the 4gb myself a few months ago, but found that the 4gb is half the card even if you don't need the 8gb. When the new AMD chips come out later this year is when we might get price drops on the 5500

This supports a resolution of greater than 4K. Does that mean it's 8K ready?

I can't seem to find what version of the DP ports are but the HDMI 2.0b can't run 8k at least not at 60hz. trust me you don't want to see things running at 30hz. you will need hdmi 2.1

Quote :
With HDMI 2.0b we could enjoy a maximum of 4K resolution at a maximum frame rate of 60Hz. With HDMI 2.1, we can get 4K at 120Hz, 8K at 60Hz, and right up to 10K resolution for industrial and commercial applications
even the mfg prdouct page don't tell what verison of display port it uses.
https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card...cification

The DP might be able to run 8k
on the product page on newegg it say:
Max Resolution 7680 x 4320

I think it will do it via DP

RX 5500 would be versus a GTX 1660.

Looks like you PSU is underpowered, the GTX 1650 might work out better ( 1650 works with a 350-400 watt PSU, and you don't need a 6 pin or 8 pin PCIe power connector)

Google some benchmarks on GTA V, Looks like performance is comparable to a rx 570, without the PSU needs

My GTX 660 Ti 4gb card just died on me - all I play is cs:go and occasionally rally racing games.

Is this card a good replacement for $120? I think I rather new than used at this point...

Thanks in advance!!

Yes This card will be a noticeable upgrade to your 660 for sure. You can throw a lot at the 570 8gb. Especially if you game in 1080p.
