Instead of placing on the charger, which is very difficult, can't you just plug a cable directly into the controller? I have an Insignia rechargable set like this and it was a pain to try to set down inverted on the charger. Someone mentioned to me that you can forego the charger completely and just plug a standard microUSB straight into the controller so that's what I've been doing all along.

edit: On second thought I tried looking closely at the pics and this is different from other rechargable sets in that it's not a simply rechargable battery pack that goes inside the controller and that you close back up. This looks like it completely replaces the battery and compartment cover so it's a weird replacement with a new charger connection type. sorry about that.

Why don't Microsoft just make integral rechargeable controllers like Sony? Such a nuisance playing with rechargeable batteries or poor quality equipment like this.

Thanks. very helpful. Many of the reviews say the same thing too.

I picked this one up instead for $19.99 which is on a lightning sale right now and seems to have better reviews.

I just bought this a week ago to replace a 3 year old Energizer one that broke, and I love it so far. No problems with setting it to charge.

Keep in min your average AA nimh battery is around 1700mah and you have two of them so you have around 3400mah total battery life. This pack is only 800mah so you'll have to charge it pretty often and with so many charge cycles they may not last long. If you use rechargable AAs, just stick with that.

Thats a terrible deal lower power and another standalone setup to keep clean and neat

Best buy has their kit that attaches to the console and looks OE stock and clean / neat for $10

Plus its 1200mah vs 800

To be fair, I've never seen one of these that worked well without magnets to guide into place, or a USB to slot into. But I still ordered one cuz F*** AA batteries.

How can you suggest that? Internal integrated batteries are always the worst idea. Not user replaceable, expensive and degrade over time.

AA rechargeable batteries are the easiest to manage and replace after end of life, and I hope Microsoft never ever goes the Sony way. If anything, Sony should go for Microsoft's way.

I've owned a few Xbox charging stations. I will say this, the one from fosmon is probably the best I've owned. Easiest to use, no hassle and battery life was good for the 6-8 mos that I had it. It does cost more than others at like $25-30 for a dual charging station

My brothers PS4 controller gets like 3 hours on a full charge... uhhh no thanks. I can do around 40+ hours on my rechargeables, and when they die i just pop in my other pack.

For those looking at this deal, I considered this item, but after a bunch of research I went with BEBONCOOL and it's better than I could've hoped for and way better than the "PowerA" recharge stand, along with their play n charge kit.

You can also just buy the batteries with a battery charger instead. These batteries have the same fit as the Microsoft one's so and don't cause disconnect issues unlike the Power A batteries.

Picture is proof console makers should put the charging port on the bottom of the controller.
