Seems like a great deal, would definitely consider if I had bigger wrists.

Why are these watches expensive? If you own one, what are some reasons you bought it for? I am curious.

It has a really nice movement for the price. But at 44 mm, that's way too big for me.

Agreed, 44mm is on the larger side. I still don't understand why lug-to-lug length is not advertised. For example, if this watch had a 46-48mm lug-to-lug, the 44mm case would actually be feasible (for me).

Hand assembly and finishing of tiny precision parts too small to be done by machine (many hours/days/months/years depending on watch), in an ultra clean lab environment (dust/skin mucks up tiny moving parts), by someone who probably went to watchmaking school 2-4 years (Horologist), from a country with "fair" employment practices.

The movement used here is a modified (I'm guessing decorated) Sellita SW500. Here's a short vid about Sellita.

I won't get into buying/abstaining to avoid turning this thread into a judgement gate.

Craftsmanship. This is watch that can be serviced and kept for 100yrs. Oris one of the few og watch makers left. It's one of my fav brands.

I own 3 Oris watches and I'm not sure I will buy another brand. I don't think the value, quality, and authenticity can be matched. This one is too big for me, 42 is max for my wrist, but repped for a good deal.
