This dishwasher was a pain in the rear to install in a remodel home built in 2001.
Why? It doesn't seem that different to me from other dishwashers I saw out there.

I added mine to a kitchen that didn't even have a dishwasher to begin with. (Had to build my own cabinets and stuff) Seemed fine for me?

Is there a stainless steel version of this? I can't put in a plastic dishwasher in my kitchen, this isn't the 70s.
i have one like this with an aluminum front. i don't think they come in stainless steel. i didn't see any when i was shopping around.

Use spray paint. That way it's consistent
Maybe the fridge raider because they're like $4-5k for copper color. then there's the microwave... I don't know if they make them in that color. so yeah spray paint I guess.

I ordered from ApplianceConnection a month ago when there was a Slickdeal posting. The item was delivered as promise and it was well packaged and in excellent condition. The delivery company contacted me a day before scheduled delivery date to let me know when they were dropping it off. I decided to hook it up myself since I already had everything ready. Bosch is easy to hook up and everything is working smoothly.

Only thing I don't like about my new Bosch 800 is the dishwasher stays wet when the cycle is done. The dishes are dry but the dishwasher remains wet on the sides and bottom. And yes, I use Finish pods and Finish liquid in it. I guess this is typical of the older Bosch 800 series. That's the one part I don't like about my Bosch.

Also AC had a rebate on my unit and filling out the rebate form was a breeze. I am waiting for my rebate check.

Shop with confidence using ApplianceConnection.
This seems like a great deal. I used to work for Bosch and bought a 500 series last year before they sold our division. I think I paid around 425 for it. I'm not sure about this model number, but I believe the 800 series was around 600. So this deal is what employees pay for this dishwasher.

As for drying, i jam a kitchen towel in the top of the door and let for about an hour or 2. I know not everyone can wait that long, but it's the simplest and cheapest way to dry. I also wipe down the inside of door once I'm done and leave the towel in to further dry the inside.

Got mine back in Apr for $1049. You can't tell if it's running or not. I think this is the most quiet dishwasher on the market.
Ordered mine June 3rd same $1049 (plus Fridge and Micro Drawer and $300 rebate for 3 appliances).
We requested June 24 Delivery ... But we had to change delivery until next week. Lowes have been great about rescheduling (floor not complete)

Wow, smoking deal. Would've gotten this but we ordered like two months ago and just got it in the mail a couple days ago. :'(

We just got a Bosch 800 for ~$930 out the door from Goedeker's. (DO NOT RECOMMEND - DO NOT USE THEM) Lowest comparable price was like $1050 + tax from Lowe's or Home Depot. I wonder how this compares to the one we got besides the different exterior. We got this one: https://www.bosch-home.com/us/pro...SHPM78Z55N
Would you mind sharing your experience with Goedeker's? I just ordered a Bosch cooktop from them a few days ago - great prices and seemed legit.

Bosch has a fair number of models in 800 series, I believe the rack you described is only available in the high end ones (>1k).
Good call out. There are two types I recall researching when buying. Bosch "Myway rack" (newer and biggest in industry) which is on higher end and "3rd flex rack" which is a bit less useful on older/less upscale models. It appears this has the older 3rd rack on AC site but reco you confirm. Model is no longer in Bosch site indicating its pending obsolescence. A blog I used on this specific topic: https://blog.designerappliances.c...hird-rack/)

Hmmm. I just ordered a refrigerator from Home Depot a few days ago, but it's back ordered for about a month. Maybe I should cancel it and order from these dudes. It's slightly cheaper and they say it's in stock.
I think my refrigerator was watching me type (friggin' Samsung) because the refrigerator section decided to stop working. Freezer is fine, though. I ended up ordering the fridge from Appliances Connection since it said it was in stock and I cancelled the Home Depot order that was backordered until mid-August.

Does Appliances Connection not charge sales tax? It wasn't on the invoice. +1 bonus if true.

It's been that price at our Lowe's for quite a while. We want the model without the handle and it is always $1250ish.

I really miss my old Bosch Dishwasher. Our 17yr old Bosch was still working great when we moved. It wasn't a completely trouble free experience, but I'd say a control panel, a power button, a water inlet valve, a broken detergent door and a couple bad rollers on the pull out racks is pretty good for A 17yr. Old dishwasher used almost twice a day.

I wanted to buy another one, but my wife wanted to try something with a heating element, because she didn't like how wet the Tupperware used to come out of the Bosch. We bought a Stainless Whirlpool instead, and less than 2yrs later I already regret it. The racks pull out like there are no rollers, the Bosch felt almost like ball bearing rollers (even though it was just nylon on nylon). I've also already had to fix the detergent door twice on our Year and a half old whirlpool. And the damn heating element that my wife wanted so bad, has claimed the life of countless poorly loaded plastic items, I.E. ( sippy cup tops, Tupperware lids, plastic spatulas, etc.). The damn thing always smells like burning plastic. I can't wait for it to die, so we can buy another Bosch.
I feel this one man. Wife finds one thing to complain about on an otherwise perfectly good appliance, and now there's no end to the issues you get to deal with. And you ain't seen nothing yet. Wait until the plastic parts inside start cracking from heat stress and the spray wands start coming off mid-cycle, or check out the unbelievable pile of grime forming on the insides of your pump. Never again #Bosch4Life

Stay away from this brand. It is junk. Mine only lasted a couple of years and barely used. My old kenmore lasted 20 years
bc your old Kenmore was likely an old KitchenAid which were tanks and borderline commercial quality. what was the first 3 numbers of your model # ?

i agree, Bosch isn't what they used to be. plus, they are tightening their supply chain up. meaning that a lot of parts are not available unless directly from Bosch. the restricted supply chain means that many 3rd party repair companies are unable to work on Bosch.

for my rentals, i stick with GE dial or Whirlpool mid-model. i can buy parts anywhere and the parts are cheap. during the last sale at home depot i actually went with a GE dial for myself in my house. i took some excess insulation wrapping i had from some ceiling repairs and wrapped the plastic tub and put a small strip on the inside of the kick plate. it's just as quiet as a higher end model now. and bc it's not trying to meet energy star BS, it does a thorough cleaning every time. no sensors and no attempt to use the least water as possible (dishwashers are already water efficient, they use ~ 4 gals per cycle).

Found this similar model (Bosch SHX878WD6N) also on sale ($649). Looks like it might have an additional feature but is slightly cheaper which to me is counterintuitive. Can anyone confirm that this one (Bosch SHX878WD6N) is better than the Bosch SHXM78W56N ($679)?

See link below for comparison on 3rd party site:

The newer version has "crystal dry". Just excellent drying of everything including plastic.
